**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I wonder why Microsoft isn't doing a press conference, yes they are doing an event where press can see/play the console, but Sony are doing an official streamed conference, this close to launch you would think Microsoft would want to show the console to as many people as possible, unless the system is just not ready for that kind of exposure.

I don't know why they're not streaming it, but with allegedly over 100 playable consoles there, they'll get plenty of exposure, more so than if they streamed an event with hand picked gameplay footage.

i'd guess MS done the reveal and then the games at E3. this could be Sony telling us about TV, TV, Sport and TV.

I don't understand your logic. Them not streaming their conference is a negative.

scenario a) Stream conference and have consoles for press and attendees.
scenario b) Only have consoles for Press and attendees.
How would b) generate more coverage than a) ?

Kinda ironic that you seem to play down negative info as rumours and then do the same yourself with regards to this "100 playable consoles" rumour!! :)

With regards to the free game being bundled, I have seen it reported as a "rumour" in many places. I would have imagined a Kinect game (like a sports title with Kinect 1). Ignoring the money they would have to pay to EA it would be a very good coup. I imagine if they went with a "real" sports game then they would have to offer an alternative in USA, I guess Madden is the EA equivalent? I don't know if the fact that Peter Moore went from MS to EA adds credence to this rumour or is just a coincidence.

I am sure most people who buy the new console or get t bought for them will buy FIFA or COD or both this year. If one of them came "free" with the console and was torn between the two, it would be a no brainer for me.
No chance, Sony have been focused on games for the PS4 since day one, I can't see that changing.
Focusing on games will mean squat if MS give away one of the top 3 selling annual games with their console :)

Perhaps they arent streaming the presentation because their main customers will still be asleep in bed? Makes no difference if the events streamed or not if they end up seeing an article after the event to them...

ps3ud0

Sorry, I didn't put my point across very well. What I meant was, if they're not streaming the event because of any kind of problem with the console (performance issues for example), then having so many playable consoles around isn't going to hide those performance issues. To my mind, having playable consoles at the conference means they have confidence the hardware is up to the job. With that in mind, I still have no idea why they're not doing a stream at all.

MS have already confirmed they will have playable games at the show. The number might not be 100% accurate, I'll give you that.

It would make sense if the bundled game (assuming it comes to fruition) was a Kinect focussed family orientated game. I just hope if that IS the case, it doesn't turn out to be some horrible cheesy kiddie game.

Lets hope the playable consoles are actually genuine XB1's, so far all/most of the XB1 game demo's have been run on PCs with 'comparable' specs to the XB1, even the recent COD Ghosts multiplayer stuff.

This week’s Call of Duty: Ghosts event wasn’t just the first opportunity to see the game’s much-anticipated multiplayer content, it was also my first chance to see how the new Xbox One controller performs when playing a competitive first-person shooter. While the controller wasn’t paired with the Xbox One console — rather, PCs configured to next-gen specs — the demos highlighted the new changes to the ergonomics, thumbsticks, d-pad, and trigger design.

Maybe the build of console (with features) they wanted to show was unstable, yet the kits on the show floor run an older build that is stable.

But hey I know you don't like any negative stuff about MS/XB1 so it;s probably just the fact they ran out of make-up for the presenter or the camera has broke/the room has bad lighting.

:p

I disagree. Even with a free game the X1 is still £25 more expensive. Plus when you buy a PS4 you can choose which games you buy. If you don't like the game with X1 then it's completely irrelevant for you. If it was something like FIFA then I wouldn't want it so I'd want to trade it in, and I'd get very little for it as loads more people would do the same but EVERYBODY THAT WANTS THE GAME WOULD ALREADY HAVE IT.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing MS are giving away a game but for certain people it won't make a difference.

I want to know what the minimum distance requirement is for the new Kinect. Has MS said yet?

It's meant to be a shorter distance than the current Kinect, so less than 6ft. No exact specs though that I've seen.

Yup, entirely possible, though if that were the case, couldn't they run the stream on the same older build? Hell, if it's just features couldn't they show it via video? There are always workarounds, which is why I just don't understand why there is no stream.

:D

Event starts in 1 hour, delayed? I thought it was 9am?

Probably got some Chinese workers finishing soldering components to a console out the back now :p
