One game has swayed you. You can still get the PS4 and Fifa for cheaper.

Not a clue Im afraid, what else is it there for? Seems an ideal solution for such a problem no? I guess offline they could just have less zombies on screen if thats the root of the performance issue :shrugs:

I have to be honest if anti hadnt mentioned that pop up cabinet in that gameplay vid I wouldnt have noticed it - had to watch it twice just to see it :p

You don't need a crystal ball just looks at the specs. Microsoft have messed up big time this generation. This isn't a mere 2% performance gain your talking about, your looking at around 20% at least if devs increase those detail slider bars up.

We already have the Need For Speed developer saying one version is going to look prettier than the other. Paying more for less, no thanks. If this counts for anything, I preferred 360 > PS3 and also Xbox > PS2.

Agreed but funnily enough when the 360 looked better than the ps3 in dual plat games people would soil themselves with page after page of comparison pictures how the 360 was betters because of better shadowing on the walls in ghostbusters.

Now when it looks like the new Xbox is going to get a graphics kicking it no longer matters ;):p
 
I can't believe on a mainly PC hardware forum people are arguing about graphics on consoles. We've had these graphics and more for years on PC.

If that's your main reason for choosing a console I have some bad newz for you son.
 
Sorry but if you base your decision on graphics then I question if you are a 'gamer'.

I can still fire up a NES and enjoy playing it.

Graphics come second, gameplay and structure for me somes first. If you enjoy It play it instead of dribbling over the graphics.

I'd love to know why having a console less powerful than the other is "messing up". There was always going to be one console more powerful than the other one, as they were never going to come out with the exact same specs. Why is graphical power so important? It's been proven year after year that gameplay is the most important factor in the success of any game. Sure, graphics are nice, but PC gaming has been blowing console gaming away graphically for years, and it will continue to do so, yet you don't find all the console owners jacking them in and moving to PC gaming do you?
 
Well said mull3t. I don't stop to admire graphics when I play a game because I'm too busy playing a game.

I mean look at hotline Miami and farcryw blood dragon as two examples.

Exactly. The graphical power will probably be most noticeable in screenshots rather than when the game is actually in motion. Some extra shadows here, some extra details there. As I've already said, when you look at games like Gears of War 3, which is absolutely beautiful looking, and then consider than both consoles will be able to blow that out of the water, isn't that enough for us? Does it matter if one is more powerful than the other?
 
I have to agree with that, as the current consoles have some decent graphics, and they're not powerhouses. Plus, the PS3 always seemed to play everything at 720p (or pretend it did when it first came out). The Xbox almost always was at 1080p.

But then it comes to games and controllers, the Playstation can't compete.

But the Need For Speed developer thing, who even plays Need for Speed? It's been **** for quite a while.
