**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Only Killer Instinct for me, which is downloadable. Anything else on launch I'm not interested in or I be playing on PC before the console is released.

Just got an e-mail from Amazon about the Forza bundle, and as said above, it looks to be sold out already. I've had pre-order with them for ages, but would have preferred Forza over Fifa, I wonder whether they can do anything if I e-mail them about it?

I'd not actually paid much attention though to the fact that most of the games are coming in at nearly £50 for pre-order at the moment. Hope we see some price drops!

Glad I was quick and saw the news story on the release date, cancelled my Day One order and got the Forza 5 Day one edition ordered.

I have been considering cancelling the order as I really didn't want FIFA, but now Forza has me sold.

I'm still toying with wanting to play BF4 on PC, but my PC can't run anything these days, and I can't quite justify building a PC for it.

There will be plenty from OcUK playing BF4 in 64 player 60 fps goodness on xbox one so you'll have plenty of fun on xbox one if you can use a pad. 64 player servers and 5 man squads means it shouldn't be too hard to get a large group in the same game

I severely doubt BF4 will be running at anything close to 60 FPS on the Xbox or even the PS4.

This is the xbox one thread though. We don't care about the 360.

It's already been verified by DICE that the xbox one and PS4 versions will both run 60fps

Pretty sure it has been confirmed that it will be running at 60fps, however what level of detail and what resolution being used to achieve that framerate are still not clear from what I understand.

I'm perfectly capable on the pad on BF3, spent hundreds of hours on it, but after all that time, and being a mouse/keybord PC gamer most my gaming life, I just want that extra bit of accuracy again.

See below.

I was clearly talking about the Xbox one you plonker.

It's a different experience to the PC: you can't just say "oh get it on the Xbox One for 60 FPS goodness" when that's not the full story considering what is likely to be a resolution reduction and/or AA removal. I'll be very surprised if it manages to hold 60 FPS in 64MP in reality. So what would be more important? Full HD resolution and AA or higher frame rates? Subjective choice but my point is that your original remark was over-simplifying it.

Dice also said they'd never make you buy DLC so remain skeptical until performance is actually known. :p

Yes they will.

Maybe with resolution reduction and detail reduction. It's just not possible on the hardware in the Xbox One looking at the level of detail in the PC alpha even accounting for the low level access to the hardware.

As others have said, the developers have already confirmed it's running at 60FPS, as well as a resolution above 720p. They just haven't confirmed yet whether it's full 1080 or something inbetween.

As above - there's a large gap between what is possible on the hardware and these expectations from DICE. In short: I don't believe them.

I expect there to be compromises in image quality when the game is released to achieve 60 FPS or in reality sync drops to 30 in multiplayer due to the natural fluctuations in what can happen in gameplay (e.g. tank explosions, building collapses).

There's no doubt the PC version will be better but it'll cost a lot more to make it look significantly better :D.

It'll be an increase in everything compared to the current console experience. Most people playing BF4 on the next-gen will be the people who played BF3 on the current-gen, so it's going to be a far superior game technically than what console gamers are used to.

Inevitably so.
