**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Partial or not its a stupid illogical thing to say. It shouldn't have anything to do with you decision as it doesnt affect whether it will be a good games consoloe or not.

Thats right theoretically it shouldnt make it a bad/better games console than any other, but when all i personally want is the best gaming machine for the money and one company is boasting about features more than they are gaming its not looking very pleasing to the hardcore gamers. How hard is it to see that? as stated, i have a Tivo, laptop etc etc and only want a games console, whether the Xbox One will be better or worse than the PS4 is unknown but with the information/specs we have to go on thats what i have based my decision on.

LOL @ Sony fan boy.. not owned a PS3 so far from a Sony fanboy.

Head ****

Seriously sit back and read how illogical that sounds.

My phone has a calculator app on it, but all I want is the best phone around. They keep going on about itunes and listenning to music but I just want a phone so instead i'm going to buy a Nokia 3210.

Just No.. No. Seriously get a grip.

Let me see if I understand you correctly.

Microsoft decide to start adverstising the Xbox One on TV with adverts relating to the NFL football season.

They do so during the run up to the start of the NFL season. In doing so they will get the attention of virtually every NFL fan in the USA (which by the way, is hundreds of millions of fans).

This now means that they only care about the TV features and don't care about the games any more.

Whatever you do, please never ever go for a job in the marketing industry, as you appear to not understand how it works.

That's what they told me. He said that the delivery date on my account is accurate and that said Monday the 25th.

If your account says the 22nd you should be ok.

What the **** ... thats more illogical than anything thats been said in every page of this thread. The PS4 has a better spec than the Xbox on paper therefore in hindsight be more powerful and perform better than the Xbox whether it will or not is unknown and so is the differences. As i dont need a console to do all these fancy tv features and the exclusive games dont bother me i'll go with the best spec console, which happens to be cheaper. How difficult is it to understand? if we was to use your pethetic example your phone having a calculator app on and being a better spec than the Nokia 3210 why would you go for the Nokia ? If the phone with the calculator app is worse in spec than the Nokia why would you go for the phone with a calculator app unless you wanted/needed it, seriously just plain dumb and so is talking about phones with calculator apps. Jheeze.

They seem to get lost quite often. Must be the lack of launch day titles to talk about.

In the calculator argument, I find the HTC One calculator quite annoying. Not sure why.

I think the reason they are lost is the left hand analog is in the wrong place.
OH BURRRNNNN etc etc

Nope

Just spoke with Amazon on support chat and all amazon orders placed after August 15 will not be for release day.

Seriously? Lol. That's poor on Amazon's part.

Thinking about it, are they not just saying that as a blanket statement due to some numpty not knowing anything, that bundle was not announced until the other day so it was impossible to order before the 15th.

Sounds like a monkey with wrong info to me. It's a bloody day one edition.

If gamers want a games console they will get one and no doubt no the features of the console(s), why would the NFL fans who dont game, go and buy a Xbox at that price just to watch TV through and have fantasy football? I just personally dont see many buying it to watch NFL or making them think oh i'll buy a games console and start gaming because i love NFL and i've seen i can check my fantasy team on it etc etc.

I never said all the care about is TV, far from i just dont understand why they hadn't put an advert out to advertise there console and games first especially after the backlash they recieved at the reveal.

and please dont try to belittle me.

Quite right. There is a lot more to performance than the stats of the underlying hardware. There is a body of opinion suggesting that Sony's implementation of OpenGL is far less advanced than Direct-X when it comes to optimization.

I'm not a developer, I don't know.

I do know however that if I were in the market for a next-gen console I'd be looking at a lot more than numbers on a page. Prior experience suggests that the best course of action is to hold fire and see how the launch goes, as I suspect the online services of both will be next to unusable for a few days after launch.

My dispatch estimate date is the 22nd so it's going out launch day.

I expect it to change to earlier with delivery estimate to launch day.

and lol at the troll posts above, i hope the analogue sticks feel natural in my hands because i havent really used the DS3 much and not used my PS2 controller in years. I love my 360 controller, as for launch day titles, its a marathon not a sprint and if they were that ground breaking pre-order charts would speak differently im sure of it.

Sigh....

I'll probably only use the online to download FIFA 14 for the first few days. As long as it keeps working ;)

I suppose they have Minecraft to be excited about. Oh wait.

I wouldn't hold out your hopes. The system is saying it will be dispatched on the 22nd , delivered by Monday 25th which seems realistic at this point.

They're called casual fans. You know, the ones who aren't like us, the ones who haven't been scouring the internet for months, watching all the streams and already making up their mind about which console to get. They're the people who enjoy gaming but aren't hardcore. They're exactly the kind of people MS are targetting with these adverts. Considering how big NFL and Fantasy Football is in the US, I think it's ingenius advertising for this week.

I never said all the care about is TV, far from i just dont understand why they hadn't put an advert out to advertise there console and games first especially after the backlash they recieved at the reveal.

Those adverts will come undoutedly, it's just MS are targetting a certain social group right now with the NFL starting this week. I don't particularly see anything wrong with that.

The PS4 has a better spec than the Xbox on paper therefore

Didn't take long for your true feelings to show. The whole TV argument is just something you've made up in your head to justify your decision.

I thought PJR (Purchase Justification Reflex) was confined to the graphics card forum ?
