To be fair Battlefield is the exception at the moment, it's the only game confirmed so far on PS4 to be running at under 1080p, and it's cross gen which probably has something to do with it.

We aren't going to be blown away by anything on both consoles until next year to be honest.

Anyhow pretty major if true, a big open world like assassins creed running at 720p is bad news for gamers.

Totally agree. I couldn't imagine playing an open world game like GTA V in anything less than 1080p. Oh, wait....

This is a serious condition and not caused by 720p gaming. Your really, really need to see a doctor.

NEWSFLASH: these games are not representative of what the new consoles are capable of !! its the same fully star all swear words! every generation launch window games are always poor compared to future titles.

honestly back in the my early days of gaming playing amazing games like jet set willy etc nobody cared about resolutions or amazing graphics it was all about the gameplay.i love gaming I've been doing it all my life and the most fun I've had playing games were from the past on older systems graphic whores are ruining the game industry people are now more bothered about what they are seeing than what they are playing and the creativity is losing out to looks with a few exceptions i.e. the last of us and gta 5 and a handful of others.look at how much it costs to make a game now and all the games studios that are going bust!

its nice that games look nice but its nicer they play nice :D

You guys can laugh all you want but the eyes are very sensitive and are a gateway to many other problems.

Just take 3d for example, it disorients most people when used first, most get used to it after a while. Though some never to and it can leave users feeling sick, itchy eyes, migraines etc. This is well documented.

After viewing crisp 1080p for years and years my eyes have been accustomed to that 1080p crispness. 720p fuzziness makes my eyes attempt to refocus and ajust but fails to do so as the source is blurred not my eyes focus. It's a continuos cycle of my eyes focussing, zoning out and refocusing etc which leads to repetitive eye strain injury, feeling sick, migraines and burst blood vessels from the eyes working to hard.

If I continue to use 720p for weeks on end my brain and eyes would get used to the fuzzier/blurred picture and of course this would stop. But I play 90% of my games at 1080p so don't want to have to switch back and forth. Hence why points about last gen are null since I was used to the lower res.
