Xbox One V PS4

Are you after any exclusives for either or is this just an urge you have? Seems a bit backwards after spending a fair bit of money on a gaming PC.
 
I prefer the PS controller for games where you hold it loosely, adventure and some sports games

Xbox controller is better for more intense games when you tend to grip the controller more like racing and shooting

that's how I'd make my choice!
 
It's well documented that the PS4 outperforms the XBone in most multiplats. However, you say you have a hi spec PC and aren't fussed about exclusives sooo do you really need one anyway?
 
To be honest you could probably just google or read any old thread and go through the standard answers..

If you want most powerful console its PS4. If you want to know the graphical differences then youtube comparison videos. At the end of the day its a personal preference if you think the difference is so huge you couldn't possible play a game on xbox one.
 
Well if "the only thing it comes down to" is performance, then it is PS4. It could be discussed until any kind of farm animal comes homes as to other factors that may influence an individual's choice, but it is a plain fact that the PS4 is the more powerful machine.

If that's the crux, then it's that simple.
 
To buy either on the merit of performance when you have a high spec gaming pc already demonstrates to me that you're going to be unhappy with your purchase.
 
Well I do want to play destiny, that's one of the main reasons I want to get a console as it's not coming to PC and some times it's just nicer to play on a console - You can just relax with a pad and not have to spend time messing with graphics settings / drivers etc
 
Not in the slightest, I actually think it's pretty pathetic that people would even get into 'arguments' about which console is better

Can the mods close this now please?
 
I have both.

The PS4 is overall the better console. Here is my little breakdown.

If you like to stream games. PS4 does Twitch + UStream, XB1 does Twitch.

Like to record video clips and share?
PS4 can share direct to Facebook, Youtube, USB drive.

XB1 you have to upload them to OneDrive and then manage them seperately.

Clip length? PS4 persistently records 15 mins. XB1 limited to 5.

The PS4 interface is a lot snappier most of the time. It bounces between dash and games instantly, between menus etc

XB1 is faster for messaging and the accompanying Smartglass app is better but feels a bit disjointed. Every element of the system i.e Friends, Messages etc runs from a seperate app. It isn't as slick as the PS4.

Both handle party chat well. The XB1s is a tad buggy at times.

As for the meat and potatoes..... games.... the PS4 in every instance so far (from what ive seen) serves up a higher frame rate and usually a higher resolution.

The PS4 controller is very good, love the touchpad function for typing messages but suffers from a poorer battery life. The saving grace is the built in battery.

The XB1 controller...well. The thumbsticks feel a step back compared to the 360 imo but it does feel good in the hand. With the play and charge kit \ clip in battery, it offers pretty insane battery life. 10+ hours.

Overall.... the PS4 is the winner for me. I will be picking up exclusives on the XB1, but most of my multiplatform love will go to the PS4.

Ah so you were flouncing. I didn't actually mean it, I was playing on a previous comment saying you must be a troll for asking this question.
Granted this sort of question is unlikely to yield any definitive answers, some do forget that not everyone follows this sort of stuff so genuinely do not know.
 
I have both and prefer the PS4. The UI is a lot better and I also prefer the controller.
I use the Xbox for exclusives and MP games. For single player multi-platform games I'll be using the PS4.
Do not be fooled by anybody that says XBL is better than PSN as it really isn't. I can't tell any difference between the 2.
 
I'll let this run for now as long as the discussion stays sensible. The moment fanboys (on either side) try to ruin it, it gets locked.

For what it's worth, I have both consoles and I'm happy with that. The PS4 gets used far more as that's where most of my friends play, but I could happily get games on either platform and not really care which one it was.

If performance is your only concern, the PS4 is the winner though, no doubt about it.
