Xbox One X

I was very strongly of the opinion that I would skip this as I had a PC but I have had a 180 and I'll probably grab one.

Have not had a console in ages. I've just got Forza 7 and I'm playing it on the pc at the moment.

With the Xbox One X can you play Forza multiplayer (and any other game) for free?

With the exception of games having to use mouse and keyboard you could stream wirelessly and use a Xbox one pad to play.

I have tried streaming before, Steam and nVidia Shield.. no thanks, not as smooth as it should be.. most games were OK but you need to either run to the other room for the odd input or have an RDP session to the machine. Too much faffing.

You need an Xbox Live sub, about £35 for the year, free monthly games with that also.

Kinda sucks that they charge you to play online when it's free on the PC.

I don't mind the yearly fee as I also get 2 free Xbox One and 2 Free Xbox 360 games every month which means I end up buying less games and more than offsets the £35 yearly fee

Is it just me or is this a really **** launch in terms of bundled titles?

The Xbox One launch gave you two or three free small games and game chucked in a free premium title download.

Other than the Very.co.uk offer i've not seen any real pro-consumer attempt to tempt me to bother with the launch and not just wait until Jan when presumably the post xmas bundles will appear?

I don't think the xbox one did at launch.

Im also struggling to justify the one X when I already have a one S (two infact!)

Completely agree.
I've watched the launch presentations, sat here with a 4k TV, ps4 pro, Xbox one s, desperately wanting to be tempted in by the one x, but I'm struggling to justify spending 450£ on slightly shinier versions of games I've already played.
Their own games might even have helped pull me away from the buying edge. Forza 7 and cuphead look brilliant (imho) on the S anyway.

I'm fighting with the decision wether to keep the Scorpio pre-order daily, like has already been said £450 is a lot for a slightly better looking game than on the one s. I didn't struggle at all when I upgraded to PS4 Pro.

But isn’t it exactly the same as the pro? If anything the X is a much bigger upgrade.

For me I have had my xbox one since last xmas but haven't got round to play any of the games I got with the console (halo, gears etc). But I recently purchased a new 4k then went to play some of the games and they don't look great. So the pull of the xbox one x for me is so I can play the games I already have but in 4k.

It’s the games. If they weren’t coming to Windows 10, it’d be a no-brainer.

This is my underlying doubt, Forza 7 is a great game for all its flaws but its play anywhere as are Shadow of War, Sea of thieves and State of Decay 2.
I justified it for 1 reason mainly, I play online mostly with xbox people, if i want to play the big multiplatform games at there best then with those people then Xbox One X gives me that.

I’m still looking forward to the One X but tbh not as much as I was. I find little differences in graphics hard to notice when playing even between the One S and PS4 Pro I see little difference sat 5-6 feet from the tv. I doubt the One X is going to be hugely different. I do prefer the Xbox controller over PS4 one so I’m pretty much paying £450 for a new controller... lol

It's Microsoft's lack of killer exclusives that is ruining the appeal of the One X for me. Sure, multi-plat games will probably look best on the One X, but I really don't think there will be much in it between this and the Pro, not to the point where you'll sit there thinking it's night and day. Not that I want this to be a console war, but I really think it's hard to argue with the fact that Sony has the more exciting titles lined up for next year. If you can afford both then why not get the X, but for anyone who owns the Pro I really don't think it's worth it.
