Hey, coming from the Xbox series x (no longer have the console or controller) which controller would you recommend for PC gaming?

Is there really a benefit going wired compared to 2.5ghz wireless? I know wired is cheaper but it's another cable and 2.4ghz is almost lag free?

Read the cyclone 2 is very good especially for the money?

See there are quite a few options/brands but are the cheap ones awful? On the other hand I don't really want to spend £150 on the Razer Wolverine V3.

Cheers.

Threres a long thread here: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/decent-game-controller.18993187/page-30

I think the xbox x/s pad via wireless or bluetooth is still kinda the benchmark standard without spending too much money, but they still have the stick drift problem after a lot of use and over a long period of time.

I certainly wont go back to a wired controller, but they still have a USB port you you can wire them up if needed.

Thanks for the reply.

I am tempted to try the Cyclone 2 which does seem to get excellent reviews for £45

I'm tempted to try a '3rd party' controller and I'm not sure I want the faff of a PS5 controller on pc so I am interested.. Just not interested enough to chance it.
Plenty of third party controllers present themselves as an Xbox controller to Windows. Gamesir and 8bitdo are good value.

Youre right though about PS controllers, hot garbage on Windows.

I got the cyclone 2 and 8bitdo ultimate, both are good. The 8bitdo has more an Xbox controller feel. The cyclone is more modern feeling with CLICKY buttons and more advanced trigger buttons where it can go to digital with a flick of a switch.

I use the Gamesir G7 Pro and it's excellent value. D pad is the poorest part in terms of "feel" but everything else is quality.

If you liked the Xbox controller then just buy one for the PC. I have two Elite controllers (original and updated) and wouldn’t consider using anything else. They run natively on Windows and SteamOS

I've said this before, but in their current states (no hall effect or TMR sticks), I wouldn't recommend buying Microsoft gamepads.

I have had multiple MS pads, including a series one and two elites, and EVERY.SINGLE.ONE of thems suffered stick drift, and/or bumper or button issues.

On the other hand, I have two Cyclone 2 pads, and they pee from a great height in terms of quality, feel and performance over the MS product.

All at around a hundred quid and more cheaper than the Elites.

I will also recommend the Leadjoy Xeno Plus from AliExpress.

Very nice and I also own Cyclone 2, G7 Pro, PS4 and PS5 Controllers.

That's a lot of gamepad for the money, makes a mockery of MS charging £150 plus for the Elite.

Do the triggers have haptic feedback on the triggers on the Xeno?
