Places I read, people are saying bots are hoovering up the preorders. I hope MS can ramp up production sufficiently that nobody needs to buy a price gouged console.

Hope so. I think it is unlikely anyone will get one on, or near launch day, unless they have pre-ordered this morning.

Just look at the queue times on certain retailers!
 
Surprised I could just bag a Series S : around 09:01 on Amazon.

Well had all tabs open and logged in.

f5'ing like my life depends on it and had the same issues with Microsoft as everyone else. Couldn't even get into the checkout stage. Amazon not showing stock, sites down all over the place. Misses walks in and say "Was it the Series X you wanted?" Buys one on her mobile within a about 2 mins from the MS site somehow.

Well got one at least. :)

So from not being convinced about these consoles to get them at launch I’ve gone a total 180 and ended up with preorders for both. FML
 
Went to GAME Nottingham this morning got there for 0730 about 15 people in front of me.

Got my Series X pre ordered £10 deposit

a lot busier than I expected. More queuing after I left.

At the start say 8am the store guy still wasn't sure how many he was getting so couldn't process any pre orders until he knew how many he had coming in.
 
I pre-registered interest on ShopTo a while ago and they sent an email out yesterday saying that from 9:30 today you'll be able to confirm the registered interest as a preorder. I went and checked just after 9 and it was showing the confirm option there so I've got that one in the bag. Who knows whether this'll mean anything or not though :)

Don't worry I'll happily swap my Series S with you :p

I take it John Lewis aren't even bothering to take pre-orders, can't see anything on the site. No wonder they are struggling.
