If its only 0.1%, then they could have afforded to provide a £100 voucher with the purchase to compensate the end user for having to replace their audio setup and the financial outlay would have been a pittance if the claimed 0.1% is true.
What has made this even worse is the revealing its only a meaner $2 cost to them, and little thought has been put into the consequences other than "hoping the market brings out new compatible products that are affordable". Is there really that many people who dont care about audio quality in games?
A lot of parts within any device are quite cheap, but as has been said repeatedly it adds up when you're selling 50 to 100 million of that device.
Some guy on the forum was complaining about the PS5 only having 3 usb ports due to his specific requirements, but if it had 4 I'm sure someone would say it should have 5.
The numbers didn't make sense to include it, 99.9% of people didn't use it, and you knew the Series S/X didn't have it when you bought it so I don't think MS owe you anything. PS5 doesn't have it either.
