Mpower 2-3 Artheas
(I was 2-0 up and needed 1 touch, his mashed ultra worked!!! *rage*)

Mpower 3-0 Hyv
(Hakan and Dan made an appearance)

Mpower 3-2 Conqueror Kenny
(No Balrog:eek:, although for the last game I tactically changed to Guile when he beat me with Adon and I just about won!)

GGs all.

I have been thinking about what to do in the case of someone vanishing with only half their games played, or if people fall behind the game schedule etc, so added to the OP:

Important:
- If someone falls behind the schedule (6 sets per week minimum) penalty points will be applied.
- If someone plays a few sets then simply disappears, they will be banned from future leagues however their played sets will still stand.
- When the league is officially over, the top 8 as it stands at that point in time will progress through, therefore it is advised you play your games at the earliest available opportunity. If you delay your games, your opponent may not be around to play later.

The results table will hopefully be updated every evening. Please can everyone keep an eye on their own scores and if you notice an error, let me know. :)

Man I've been meaning to get MvC3, but just never got round to it...

Don't bother, your SF game will drop like hell lol, plus AE should be out soon and you should pick up the new Gouken / Evil Akuma. :)

winning with hakan is physically impossible...

Very very difficult but I wouldn't say impossible, I've been beaten by an online Hakan but I can't remember his name...

Hi guys. I am sorry but I probably won't be on tonight as I have been ill the past few days. I am getting better so I should be around tomorrow evening.

No problem mate, its only just started today. :)

I've changed my GT to:

MM Madbeats

Edited OP.

I'm dropping out now then. No point getting myself banned from future leagues. Hopefully I'll be based at home more for work in the future.

You are on the forums quite regular though, so very little chance of you disappearing? It was aimed more at those who don't post so often on here or just signed up for the league.

I'm sort of confused by the rules.

Kreeee said he was dropping out because of this, but Adz then said since he frequents the forum, it's not a case of 'simply disappears' and implied that he won't be banned because of this.
Then, Zamber stated he quits, which isn't 'simply disappearing', but his played games still stand?

I can see that the rule is in place to try to encourage people to play as many games as they can, as quickly as possible so that the league doesn't stall, but it feels rather unfair to everyone else that elrasho, who happened to play zamber on day 1, gets extra points?

Maybe I didn't word it right but if someone disappears ie. isn't online to play games for a long period, nor do they post on here at all with an update, they will be banned from future leagues as its not fair on everyone else. Kreeeee obviously does post on the forums quite regularly so this doesn't apply to him, even if he was away for a week or so with work he could post an update on here.

Phantom was in the league, played a set, then dropped out. He could have played 3 sets or 10 sets, this isn't the fault of his opponent(s) so they should not be penalised imo. Yes this doesn't make it fair on those who haven't played phantom but there is nothing that can be done about that, the only alternative is to remove all his games (which I did last league) but I don't think that was right. This will encourage people to play their games asap because you don't know who might just drop out or disappear.

Mpower 2-3 Salu
Mpower 1-3 Overmostheads
Mpower 3-0 Robgmun

gg guys.

I know Zid, it doesn't really work under certain scenarios and there is never gonna be any 'fair' way if people start dropping out. But in this particular instance with it just being just phantom (who lost 13/13 sets in season 3) I have decided everyone gets a FREE win, based on the realistic assumption they would have won anyway. Can no one else please drop out!!!

Controlledwrath, can you post ASAP in the thread to confirm your account has been activated then you can start playing league games.

Kreeeee, are you in or out?

I'm not happy at all about the ruling when players leave. It gives me no incentive to take part knowing that I have lost the chance to get some points that others have attained.

You are assuming that players are gonna leave, I am assuming and hoping they are not. Either way it encourages people to play at the first available opportunity whereas what I noticed in previous leagues was, people would prefer to keep playing practice sets even though the game has been out 2 years! The only alternative is removing all games that someone played if they drop out, this penalises those who actually did play them.

I guess a solution to the problem would be to use the average instead of overall points gained. That way, no matter how many games you've played, whoever has the highest average at the end goes through to last 8. Obviously you can set a minimum number of games ppl have to have played (i.e. 12) otherwise i cud play once match and keep an average of 4.

Problem with that would be, someone could just play what they view as the 'easier' games and leave the difficult ones to last, and just keep an eye on their average. It doesn't really encourage people to play all their games.

yeah i guess so, not sure about easy games though, most of the ppl in this league are really good, gonna be tricky to get top 8

Yep will be tough, but I think most of us know before going into a game what our chances are of getting a win, whether there's a small chance or simply no chance. :p

I msg'd controlledwrath with a direct link to this thread, and I know from someone else who signed up it took less then 1 day to activate their account..

Are you not doing a penalty system like last season to make sure ppl play their games on time anyway?

Yep its still there, although tbh the rules were set thinking that someone may possibly quit halfway through not after 1 set. In that instance it doesn't work at all I agree.

I don't expect everyone to finish all their games though, they didn't last time but the league will continue on schedule, penalty points will be given for those behind, and when its officially over, top 8 at that point in time go through.
