Xbox360 Internet connection with a normal adapter, possible?

As title. my son wants to use a wireless adapter with his xbox 360, and considering the cost of the microsoft version I was wondering if its possible ( and easy) to use some other wireless adapter currnetly available.
Any info appreciated, cheers.

Unless it's specifically advertised as something like "wireless-gaming adapter" then nope.

Reason is there's no way to install the drivers on the Xbox - the adapters I've mentioned are basically wireless to ethernet bridges and don't require any drivers on the host console - they plug into the network port which already has the drivers on the Xbox.

There are cheap options, you can use certain DLink routers (may need custom firmware) to act as a wireless bridge.

get hold of the xbox360 adaptor, although its a bit expensive its stable and rock solid

I'd be tempted to go with a wireless bridge or modded router, you can connect several devices and its cheaper.

Yep, wireless access point will do the same job as the microsoft adaptor.
