Xbox360 to have integrated HD-DVD?

I say bring it out. A 360 with built in HD-DVD will drop the price of the other consoles like flies. Well I can hope. And with the HD size available in that thing, It could also impact the stupidly overpriced 120gb HD's we currently see.
 
An article in UK-based gadget mag Stuff said that by August 2008, Microsoft will release what the publication called the "Xbox 360 Ultimate."

When contacted by Next-Gen, Microsoft declined to comment on the rumor. However, a separate source close to Microsoft who wished to remain anonymous said that the rumored "Ultimate" is simply not on the cards.

Good coz its a stupid idea imo! Devs arent gonna be able to cater HD-DVD games as the 360 DVD market is too large & judging by the price of the Elite an additional HD-DVD drive & almost double the amount of storage space equals a stupidly insane rrp! & its good for what?? Watching HD films! MS need to focus on 360 reliability rather than trying to copy/beat the PS3!
 
Why would you believe that it's to do with HD-DVD games? It isn't!
It would only ever be for HD Movies and, like everything else on the Xbox360, it's OPTIONAL.

It's not about copying or 'beating' the PS3, it's about offering for a gap in the market.

Mine displays album art.

If you integrate album art into the MP3 file, which is what I do anyway, so the album cover appears in "preview" on Vista, as well as in my MP3 playing software, then the PS3 also displays this album cover picture when scrolling through.

Not sure what 'gap' this is supposed to fill, with the ps3/360 hd-dvd addon already in place there's not really a gap there. If it comes out it will simply be what the elite should have been . Ms would have to drop the price dramatically on all current sku's to price this realistically. But then again people are so blindly in love with the whole 360 experience they'd probably still buy it anyway.
