XCOM 2: War of the Chosen

Lot of people in uproar on Steam Workshop because it breaks a lot of mods. Mainly voice packs work but not much else. Bit miffed as I just noticed there was a Star Wars Stormtrooper Soldier skins mod. I got mine for £27.99 from GMG the price fluctuated a bit yesterday at work it was £29.98 but when I got home last night it was £27.99.

I don't mind the price, it's one of those games I'm going to play a lot, so it's worth it for me.

Also got a bunch of free games from GMG apologising for the pre-order mess up (that I didnt know about). Various Indie games that dont look to great to me.

Finished my 3rd play through of Xcom Enemy Within yesterday (100hrs playtime for a fiver, not bad!). So I'll definitely get Xcom2. WIll probably do the base game plus DLCs then look into this expansion to see what it adds.

I'm really enjoying this. The new stuff really shakes the gameplay up and adds a lot of new variety. If you like XCOM2, it's well worth the asking price.

I've only tested it for an hour. But with a 1080Ti at 4k, as long as you turn off Screen Space Reflections all the stuttering is gone from the base game.

Sorry should say, stutters are gone that I had with the base game. The base game still stutters.

Word is they rewrote the core engine for it.

Yes. The new engine is only when you play the expansion, the normal game isn't patched.

Can't seem to go more than 10 minutes without the game crashing, base game or war of the chosen, both do it.

Check drivers and temps. It pushes the system. Also reinstall the game.

I wouldn't, this adds lots of extra complexity and fires loads of new stuff at you early in the campaign

I'd get used to how the standard game works first.

Tried both old and new drivers, temps barely about 45c on GPU, 50c CPU, tried re-installing the game, verify integrity in steam, deleting config files in my docs, re-installing windows, under-clocking/overclocking, undervolt. Disabled all mods. These crashes happened in the base game as well as WOTC.

Sounds like a good excuse to build a new computer...

Still sounds like an inherent conflict on your system somewhere whether it's software or hardware

I played for 4 hours straight last night with no crashes.

Because some might not have realised it, almost the whole Stat Trek TNG team has given their voices to this expansion.
