Please don’t change too much. I’ve been spending at least 30 mins a day everyday of the year reading the forums since 2002 (technically earlier on the old forum). I don’t deal with change well

When I visit my profile page, I just see my current avatar with "Soldato" underneath it in a small box. No option to change it.
My avatar automatically changed after 5,000 posts.
You don't get the option to change it anymore, as far as I'm aware.

Whatever you do please don't have a like / dislike ranking system like some other forums.
Like and Dislike buttons are fine, i like the idea but how much a post or thread is liked or disliked shouldn't affect how far up or down the page or thread the post sits, it just becomes a war of ratioing people, like reddit, its cancerous.
Also nesting, we don't need that mess of sub-threads with in sub-threads with in sub-threads..................... the way the forum is layed out right now is perfect. it doesn't need fixing

The like is great for many reasons eg acknowledging a response, showing your agreement with a post without a trivial +1 or “this” reply.
Like also doesn’t mean there needs to be any other reaction enabled like dislike, disagree, heart etc.
