Should the new forum feature a "like" system? (note: this is like only, not dislike)

Just realised what this thread was and realised it is the same forum software they use over on AVforums. Which I thoroughly dislike lol it just takes longer to load and doesn't nagivate as smoothly. And the amount of accidental 'likes' and other random buttons I hit when scrolling through on my mobile is annoying :p
As long as they don't start moderating like they do on AV Forum I don't mind

AV forums is so far detached from actual XenForo I wouldn't worry about it. They spent tens of thousands on changing nearly aspect of it.

I think a lot of the issue is that people are thinking of the like system from the point of GD, which is possibly the only place that it would be pointless.

Someone asks for a system spec, 3 are posted, it's then up to the poster to choose, but if one has 10 times the likes of the other. That really helps them out.

Someone is having issues with software not running, 10 different answers given, one with the most likes is the first one that is tried and the person fixes it faster.

Someone posts a recipe, likes indicate whether it's worth trying or not.

Likes will help in every area where people don't post **** like the do in GD. It's not about the poster, it's about the content of the post and it's suitability to help the OP.

Likes can be disabled per forum via permissions to each user group (from what I can see through my admin cp). I have a post ratings addon for my site which is very popular and causes no issues.

Is there an option within the XenForo settings to delete any posts where the 'member' uses 'lol' as punctuation?

That can actually be done :D

Is there any chance that if a user types would have, should have, should have and ect they are blown up?

A good one for me would be correcting my teh when I mean the.
