*n

Just quoted 'cos I could not put it much better myself.

haha Scientology. It's a business.

Tell me any other religion or group of believers that require money to share their knowledge, the need to 'pay up' before you learn.

Go to a priest and he will gladly tell you all you wish to know. Go to a Rabbi and he will gladly sit and tell you everything there is to know about his religion. etc etc

Sit down with someone from the Scientology church and they will ask you how much money you've got.

Strange how you can mock Scientology without reprieve but Christianity, no no no...

AGREED

It's funny, everyone rants and raves about how stupid Scientology is yet all the other religions are just as silly in concept. I know that this one is OBVIOUSLY fake simply because a science fiction writer made it up with the intent on making money, but really it isn't any less believable than Christianity Buddhism and Islam.

Bingo :D
To quote L. Ron Hubbard himself-
If a man really wanted to make a million dollars, the best way to do it would be start his own religion.

Good writer, but his religious ideas as far as I can see were & as far as I can see still are total rubbish solely sustained by the sheep instinct.

"75 million years ago there was an evil galactic overlord named Xenu who ruled over 76 planets including earth (then called Teegeeack).

Due to overpopulation, Xenu decided to gather up the 13.5 trillion people on these planets and send them into volcanoes on earth off the Canary and Hawaiian Islands. He then dropped H-bombs and killed the people.

Xenu trapped the souls of these people in boxes and implanted them with a false reality. The confused souls with these false realities attached themselves in clusters to the last remaining people on Earth. Today we all hold about 2,000 alien souls that can only be released by a Scientologist with auditing sessions. So you pay lots of money to learn a bunch of self-help mind over matter tricks. In Scientology you are brainwashed into believing an un-true history, and you are promised an unattainable reward. Scientologist believe that once you have reached the upper levels of "OT" you can fly around and move things with your mind and do all sorts of fun stuff. "

give me Christianity any day :p

edit: although the powers seem fun, i wonder if Tom Cruise can do it ;)

It remains true that they're all as plausable as each other due to the fact that they're trying to explain the unexplainable.

yeah, fair enough.

I wonder how much OT15 costs, wouldn't mind being able to move stuff with my brain..

Is the Wikipedia article accurate... or has it just been fabricated? I read an article the other day that had been edited to included Ronald McDonald and various other stupid characters. :(
