XFX 8800GTX power problem

I just thought I'd post back here that I received my adapter and it certainly seems to run fine. Big relief :)

I was, however, just curious; what sort of symptoms would I expect if there was a problem?

Would the card under-perform, or would it likely be something more obvious for example: my system not posting or booting?

You need 2 molex per 6 pin? are you sure? it seems to work ok with just one?

It takes two 4 pin molexes to supply enough current if the 6 pin connector is heavily loaded, for light loads you could get away with one but why take the chance? Overloading it will probably give you warnings about insufficient power at best, melted cables and/or damaged hardware at worst.

Always use the integrated 6/8-pin PCI-E connector on your PSU before the molex adapters. Those come with 2 molex sockets on it as stated above, for the current it draws, and to make sure you use a different lead for each to balance the load between the different 12v rails from your PSU.
