Hi all. Well i've now got the Arctic Cooling Accelero Extreme fitted to my card. Surprisingly i can now run 648 on the core. Shaders top out at the same 1513 and mem i've just tested at 1050(2100). Rather be careful with mem settings though as i think it's what caused the degradation of my last GTX. As far as temps go, the ACAE cooler has dropped idle from 51c to 44c and load from 65c to 54c. Not done any gaming yet(still) but getting 14k on 3dMark06. Didn't realise the early GTX's clocked so well. I'll stick with the card now until the new stuff get's released later in the summer. Glad i got it at it's cheapest price £139.99 +VAT. The price now is ludicrous.

Yes, 3DMark06 wouldn't get past the first test before locking up with stock cooler at 100% fan speed at 648core. The lower temp with the ACAE seems to have made the difference. All of the card gets cooled. For an extra 27Mhz on the core it wasn't worth £35 but i'd bought it with the card expecting a much better o/c from the stock cooler to start with.Azibs, you said you could now run the core at 648 with after-marking cooling....was that not the case with the stock cooling (was the max overclock lower then?)
Cheers
