XFX Shows A Distinct Lack Of Professionalism... Again

They're just having a harmless dig, don't really see the problem.

It pales into insignificance next to AMD. On some of their early Athlon prototype motherboards sent out for review years back, a small musical stave was printed onto the circuit board with a few notes on it. It was the Intel ding-ding-ding-ding tune we all know and loathe :D

haha, thats pretty cool. :D

It's more surprising somebody was actually sad enough to care, zoom in and analyze the artwork on the package, not that the picture confirms anything, could be fake for all I know.

Actually, it's been confirmed by a completely different site since.

As you can see from the scale here, it's not difficult to spot. :)

A true statement is not considered libellous. In other words you cannot sue for libel and claim damages. Now, I d like to be in that court and watch how the judge will establish the truth of the statement :p

Judge: "There are no DX 10 games yet, case posponed!"

Did you reply to the wrong thread or something? :p

XFX may be badging EVGA cards and this is their agreed way of showing it!!!
Maybe XFX are on the ball enough not to make a 8600 card, sale or return to EVGA.

Just a follow up on this

http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=39634

AFTER OUR COLLEAGUES from Hardware.Info broke the story that XFX GeForce 8600GT retail box comes with wolf slime containing EVGA's logo, European HQ of EVGA reacted strongly and won a preliminary injunction against XFX/Pine Technologies.

We have received the documents from Munich Court and Chamber of Commerce that confirm that EVGA won the injunction, damages ranging from 5 to 250.000 Euro and a ban of sales of allegedly offending products in German retail and e-tail stores, until new artwork is produced.

This picture is now being used as a court document:

why the hell did they do this knowing that they would have to deal with being sued/injunctioned etc? bit silly if you ask me.
It's XFX, I expect nothing less than silly and unpressional behaviour from them these days.

illegally advertising thier name

But then you can only sue for damages.

We're probably among the only handful that are aware of this and we think it's funny.

Will it influence my purchases or yours? No.

No damages, no lawsuit.

EDIT: Didn't get to page 2 before posting. Still, I stick to my guns. Prooving damages will be impossible (it's catch 22, if you draw attention to an otherwise innocuous problem, the only person you have to blame is yourself). They'll probably get an injunction, but they'll only get costs if XFX bothered to try justifying their postion..... which they won't.
