xfx warantee

maybe you have, but i managed to lose a box with all my receipts in it, show off :p

Well, I hope you're going to stop going on about how bad XFX are now, given that they've said they will overlook their normal policies in this instance if you can supply them with an invoice.

And no, I don't work for XFX!

Did you buy using a credit card?

If you did then they may be able to help ref. proof of purchase (Am assuming that you did not buy loads of stuff from best buy)

good luck in getting this sorted, maybe as a last resort you can find a bank statement showing a purchase from best buy around the date and ask them kindly to consider it as a semi proof of purchase.

Still, in future buy gigabyte, they don't make you prance around like a show pony to have your item covered.

yea i must say after reading this i will never even look at an XFX device, i also quite like msi for there warranty service even though they are out side of the uk.

I can't believe they are using the date for an excuse because they done the exact same thing to me and it was only 6 months after release. ;)

Also when the guy at xfx says he will help you out he doesn't mean he will get you a new card or a refund.
There idea of helping you out is to give you a small gift voucher that can only be used on there over priced website.

In my case I got offered a £60 voucher which doesn't seem to bad until you realise you have to pay postage both ways which then leaves you with just £40 towards a new card.
But just to top it off there shop is £20 more expensive than any other so your basically just left with a £20 discount on a new card.

For me the £20 off a new card was pointless as I would rather change brands and pay a little extra.

I have heard bad things about XFX warranty, this just takes the cake and I would absolutely fuming it were me! I only ever buy MSI or Gigabyte cards now.

Is anyone finding the tone of the representative who replied to the email a bit unnerving? The fact he decided to directly take a stab at people who browse these forums winds me up a little. This has definitely put me off buying anything from XFX in the future, I'd rather just spend the extra pennies and buy it from MSI or Gigabyte. I'm also a little surprised they're not able to track who purchased the card from the serial number, with unrelated tech in the past I've been able to provide a serial number and I've been told who the card was supplied to.

Now I've not looked into this as am at work but from what I remember "proof of purchase" does NOT have to be a receipt or an invoice it can be something as simple as your bank statement or CC statement showing the payment to the company.

Find this and you should have your warranty honored.

Take for Example a website Advertised 3 Year warranty, but had the stock for 1.5years already. I woudln't expect a 1.5 year warranty, I would expect the as advertised 3 year warranty. What wort of warranty was the XFX card advertised with?

I wonder what SHAUN_T's OcUK username is lol

We are classed as forum lawyers... Are XFX being that petty in their support? Considering we sell their products too...

One tip XFX as you are reading this thread, to generate more sales you may want to put the correct resellers contact information on your own website for starters.

I have an XFX card but there is no way on Earth I will ever buy one again if that is their stance. Them and ASUS now.

Disgusting behaviour.

bit of a backwards way of business from xfx's part, but still, its now either bin it or set fire to it! lol

No this is quite normal, Dell operate this way as well.

When you buy direct from Dell (monitor, etc) you get Dell XXX year warranty.

When you buy from a reseller, you get however much of XXX is left since reseller bought it from Dell.

Warrenty used to be something XFX used as a selling point, how times have changed.

XFX originally only produced nVidia graphic cards, however during the beginning of 2009, XFX decided it would exclusively manufacture ATi based graphics cards, and would no longer use nVidia chips. XFX also produces non-reference design graphic cards, and is well known for their double lifetime, modder-friendly warranty.

I hate xfx with a passion, i had 2 graphics cards from them both failed, both got sent back under there warranty, one card i received back was 2 models lower and the cooler was full of dust and hair !! and this took 16 weeks in total

Absolutely disgusting service from them, i have and never will buy another one of there products ever again.

AFAIK there was a bit of a hoohah over in Europe about advertising a "lifetime" warranty never mind a double lifetime one!

Reading some of the comments above I think it's time to avoid XFX and make sure friends/family are aware of the timescales of the RMA process.

Friends don't let friends buy from XFX.

I hope the guy answering email losses his job and XFX go up the wall.

No wonder Nvidia ****ed you off XFX

I hope OCUK remove you as a partner altogether, as you certainly don't deserve to sell products through their good name.

The way you have treated this customer and other customers (google it) it won't be long until you cease to trade.

Well glad I read this thread as I was seriously considering the XFX 7950 DD which was very cheap recently and someone on here was singing the cards praises. No chance I will purchase from XFX now having read all this thread. Shame.:(
