** XIGMATEK MAVERICK PSU'S LAND AT OCUK - TALK TO ME GOOSE! **

That is the second review that mentions only 6pin PCIE connectors... OCUK might want to amend the specs to save themselfes some returns / unhappy customers..

Why would we amend our specs to make them incorrect? The units we sell come with 6+2 PCI-E. I checked them myself. These units are better than the Maverick S units that have been reviewed, they conform to higher efficiencies.

Sorry, didn't spot the S to be honest... Not sure it is wise to name different parts so similarly...

Not sure either the Jonny guru or Tech powerup reviews are at all relevant... the S and non-S actually come in a different size ... so unlikely to be the same internally.

I was told it was the Maverick units that had been reviewed, as opposed to the Maverick S. Either way, if the units we provide offer better efficiencies, I would inspect the internals to be improved as a result.

Just because something looks good doesn't mean they are good. Personally I think they look exactly what they are, cheap and nasty and I wouldn't touch one with a bargepole. Seeing as you can get vastly superior gold rated units with top notch internals such as the Seasonic built Antec Truepower Classic 550w for just £11 more than the 600w version of this there really isn't any reason to go for a lesser psu. It's not modular but it is of a very high quality and I would rather have the quality than a low end modular unit. There are still no reviews for these but the Maverick S was very poor in reviews.
