Hi all
I've just got myself a bluray home cinema system for my room. However for boring technical reasons relating to my older generation TV I cannot use the HDMI on my Geforce.
Sooooo I'm using a optical cable from my Xonar DX to my Samsung home cinema. So far so good. In the Windows 'Sound' control panel I can do a dolby 5.1 / DTS 5.1 sound test that confirms all speakers are usable and will play back sounds.
However when I play back a MKV with a DD/DTS 5.1 sound track in either media player, media player classic or media portal all I can is stereo sound
I've turned on SPDIF in the Asus control panel, and even in there if I do a speaker test the only options that make any noise are the front left and right speakers. Am I doing something wrong?
