I'm bored of the usuall XP fisherprice theme, what is the best website for themes? is there any programs I need to DL?

Will work but you can use the file below to patch it in one step

Once downloaded you'll need to rename it to .exe instead of .ex_

or the version 5 multi patcher, version 4 is missing some things i think

has a really nice theme with it, and it'll be applied by default, just run it and unselect custom boot screen

use the 4.6.1 beta version, it works perfectly

if you want to change the style after, visit deviantart.com and look for visual styles on there, extract them to C:\windows\resources\themes to get them ot appear in the desktop properties -appearance tab

2) download it
3) run it.
4) there is no 4. thats it

not so hard lol

for other themes, install it (usually by unzipping them into the windows>> resources >> themes directory and select it via windows the same way you would any other theme.

you need to use a ' UXtheme.dll' patcher, to allow you to use custom visual styles. The default windows xp visual style is called luna. You can download visual styles from numerous sites, but i have found deviantart to be the best.

get the dll from http://themes.belchfire.net/index.php?showtopic=9001 and then use this program :http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/

no, nothing has to run. if you don't want it to. i think the only thing that runs is the replacement for the task switcher which you dont have to install anyway. Honestly mate just look around the site and it'll answer your questions. can't you be bothered?

no, it patches your uxtheme file (once) to allow usage of non microsoft themes, (so nothing extra runs) and it patches some bitmaps

just run it, its used by thousands

i'm a fussy mofo and i dont go installing every program under the sun, trust me on this one

I was half way through installing xpize and it shows an error that .Net framework is not not installed, it gives me the option to carry on what shall I do>?

I've just installed xpize and I'm impressed so far but programs are constantly asking to communicate with CTFMON.exe which is annoying. is there a way to change the standard XP load up, login and "log off windows" using xpize?

I've ****** it up now, just tried to put a new theme on. and this happened

It gave me an option to switch active desktop off, I did and a guns n roses picture came up from about 6 months ago and some wired stuff on the left appeared
