I seem to have hurt my 2500k... It used to bench quite happily at 5.46GHz but now it wont boot. Still happy benching and gaming at 5.1 mind.

In the short time that ive been using pc's, the best chips ive owned have been a q6600 @3.8ghz on air and an i7 920 @4.2ghz. My 3770k was woeful and my current 4770k is a very toasty chip.

The leaderboard looks a little 'synthetic' if you like, call me a cynic but it makes me wonder whether intel have ensured that the lresults read like they do...

when you say synthetic the progression of cpu architecture the latter product will always come out on top at at equivalent clock speeds. Also not sure how ram affects this benchmark, weather it favours raw speed or timings, need to do more testing to find out.
