Yakuza 0

That's Valve for you.
Valve are not based in the UK. Also I think it is down to the game devs and the time they choose to release it rather than Valve I think, but could be wrong. They may choose to release it simultaneously everywhere at the same time. This will obviously be inconvenient to some due to the word being a sphere. It's not like they want to go out of their way to inconvenience us in the UK is it? :)

I'm pretty sure if Apple/Sony/Microsoft can do a rolling global launch for apps/games at 00:01 for each time zone of the world, then Valve can.

The game's getting pretty rave reviews as expected, should be a standout among all the cookie-cutter PC releases, even though it's based on an engine built for the PS3:p

I hate exclusives, it should've come a lot sooner, I've spent way to much time with the series on consoles to rebuy:/

I hope I'm going to like it. :o

Depends on your taste, I guess:p Personally, I can't think of a game that's more game-y, both serious and hilarious at the same time and that offers so much fun content to the player. All that while still delivering on the gameplay front with over-the-top arcade combat (heat actions!)and not skimping on the story.

Until Shenmue arrives, there won't be anything like it but even that is different with it's stuck-up artistry.

Given it an hour. The story already has me gripped after meeting the lieutenants. I thought I knew a bit of Japanese - can't make out heads nor tails of anything they are saying! Game has some weird audio problems though. Every now and again it'll crackle. All these buildings are highlighted on the minimap but you can't go in them. I want to do some exploring!

Wait till you progress a bit and get into all the mechanics/unlock some abilities as the places will unlock as well over the course of the story. What's great about 0 in particular is that virtually every chapter introduces something new and even seemingly pointless minigames/substories can unlock some neat stuff. There's a lot of it, really:p

Regarding Japanese, the Yakuza in the game speak with a typical Yakuza slur and use loads of slang terms (like e.g. uchi no shima - our territory, literally "our island", choushi ni noru - "to be cocky ", derogatory -yagaru suffixes, colloquial suffixes etc.) so it might be hard to follow. Wait till you get to Majima bits and experience some Osaka-ben:D Lots of subtle differences compared to the "standard" dialect :p

4 hours. It's been great so far. The first boss fight almost had me. Glad I stocked up on provisions. That's it for today though. Tomorrow I need to find some girls for these erotic videos or something. LMAO.

Wait till you meet a certain nekkid character. Just when you think you've seen it all in gaming, you get bowled over and can't stop laughing.

I preferred using Majima in 0. His combat moves were brilliant.

What’s the gun off the clown guy for? Can you not just go around shooting everyone with it instead of fighting? :p

You mean Bob Utsunomiya? He's somewhat a staple of the series, a guy that gives you rewards for reaching certain milestones:D Guns aren't terribly useful, they do more damage in this one but you're still better off sticking to melee.

Just a small tip without spoiling much hopefully: be wary what you spend your Completion Points on as there are certain abilities that let you become completely OP at some point if you want and you'll have to grind stuff like Mahjong etc. if you spend too many CP on the less useful stuff.

I've been upgrading the health so far and maybe one or two skills. I've sold a plate that Bob gave me for a lot of dosh so I'm saving that for later.

You can upgrade everything that's upgraded with money freely, you'll have plenty at some point. Just try to save some CP for said ability if you can. It's not necassary to get OP by the end by any means but it's fun:D

You can get CP for eating/drinking everything at restaurants, karaoke, disco etc. and other stuff that's listed in the menus.

Sorry, I misread. I thought you meant money. Yes, the completion points. I need to have a look at those. I think I picked the first one already which is something I can't remember now. :o

If it's who I think it is, then yes, you meet him many times over as a part of a substory:p
First time I encountered him, he was in the Caberet Club and my wife was in the room and then the ingame camera zooms in on him. Explaining wtf was going on was a tough ordeal!
