Seems like I've got 2 stuck pixels, one is 4 inches from the left, other is 3 inches from the right - at the level of the Firefox status bar.

They don't appear on black, only on grey or white screens - is this right? Are Apple likely to be sympathetic and give me a new one? Only had it since Wednesday! Yargh again.

Ring them.

Pretty sure they will replace it for you, they're good with things like this. Seems like a lazy pixel as it only shows on certain colours.

Tried rubbing it with a cloth, etc?

Rubbing it with a cloth seems to do nothing due to the glass front. I'm now scouting the screen for others, staring at a white screen is difficult though. How can I get the entire screen to be a single colour easily? :)

Maybe a full screen image of a colour, or create a folder with one image and set to slideshow or something.

THINK i may have a dead pixel too :( damn you!

Ah yeah, forgot about the glass on it.

Do a full screen fast frame video on it, sometimes that will kick it back into action. But these things hadrly work.

I've tried running that noise for 10 minutes, didn't do anything. Everytime I did something else it stopped too, seems the Java applet doesn't like Mac...

This is one of them:

If Apple say they want you to take it to the nearest Apple store (for repair), refuse.

As it's within the 14 days you're entitled to send it back for a replacement.. so demand no less. Use the term "Disappointed" and they'll come round ;)

I like using "disappointed" to customer services people! Was wondering what their stance on that would be, didn't particularly want a ride to Sheffield.

There's a "service center" in Hull though, would they be able to swap it out to speed it up?

If you've customised it; no.

They'll ask on the phone and probably just send you an exchange :)

Not customised, was stock. I'll give them a bell in morning then and hope they're going to bosh me a new one out soon as! :)

If it's stock you could just exchange it an the nearest Apple store, no problems.

I'd ring though and say you're looking after a football injury and you can't lift heavy items.. they'll send you a replacement then I'd imagine.

Not so impressive, the new one has AT LEAST two dodgy pixels! What do I say to them on the phone this time?
