Yargh! Dicky pixels on iMac?

This has actually made me scared. I have my 24" arriving on the 11th-14th. I hope I don't have the same trouble. :(

Still reckon I should send it to that Steve Jobs e-mail address?
 
People do get actual responses from Steve. I think it's probably like the Queen or something - the secretary ploughs thru them all and hands a 'representative sample' over to his Jobness for review.

Were I in the market for a desktop Mac ( I have an MBP, but a PC desktop ) the 24" iMac is where I'd go - it's a stunning stunning machine to behold - it's just such a shame you've had so much bad luck :( What's your next plan?

You'd think Apple would pay extra attention to the displays on these things after years of telling us they are designed for the sort of things that benefit the most from a good one.

Anyone experienced an Apple Refund before? I got the invoice telling me it was being sent to my credit card on the 30th June, it's still not appeared.

When I mis-configured my Mac Pro I had to cancel the order and wait for a refund.

It took 5 working days to process.. which was annoying because I only wanted to add another superdrive :mad:
 
Sorry to keep thread bumping, but an update:

Apple customer services guy had no idea and suggested speaking to my bank, to which I responded I'd just checked my online statement to find no refund. He's passing it onto "financial services" who will get back to me "within a couple of business days"...

Still not had any response to my letter? Shall I just send it again, with a note attached updating the situation?
 
Another update!

The refund was never actually sent to me and I've still not had another response to my original letter! Here's the follow up: http://jamiebarron.co.uk/letter2.pdf, it's going recorded tomorrow with a copy of the original to bug them. All I want is an iMac that's not defective! :p

I'm aware there's mistakes on that letter, that was the draft, I wasn't re-TeXing it just for you lot...
 
What happened with this in the end?

Got a £70 discount on the 4th one... which also has a dicky pixel. Fed up of arguing with them now, but next time I'll buy one from a shop and investigate it before I leave!

They also managed to lose my recorded letter and couldn't offer an explanation for who had signed for it, or where it could have got to. Convenient.
