Yep its confirmed, a BLACK P150

Took delivery of mine on Thursday but unfortunately it's going back due to missing bits and a bent panel, but would be useful to know what to look out for.

I had a P150 on approval and I sent it back due to the flimsy build-quality. It's made of the same aluminium as the Lanboy, which at least was meant to be light and get carried about. The P150 is a pretty expensive cheaply made case with a good PSU in it.

And it's really not THAT quiet. The cheaper Sonata is a better quiet case. If you want quality above all else, then buy a Lian-Li or a Silverstone, if you want space and a few extra features, then I like Akasa Eclipses. We build between 6 and 8 servers a month and unless expressly told otherwise, we put them in Eclipse 62's. They make swapping out motherboards VERY easy.

But my main rig lives in a Lian Li V1000B!

Dunno about the Silent box but I got the Scythe Silent Hdd box and its a weird case..

I have a 300gigger SATA Seagate (the one with the quieter chipset) and I thought yeah its quiet but the seeking/writing hdd access noise just became irratable!

Placed in box and id say it took off about 60-70% of the noise the access noise went completly and so did the noise of the drive, if I take it out I cant go back to that state!

Negative thing though is its heated up badly to 60-65c which imo is hot although scythe say 65c max....

The only soloution I can think of is something I belive Asus had ? a backplate for a SATA connection for data/power on the back.... if I can put the drive in the open air it will cool down a bit better.

The P150 is made of 95% of 1mm steel, with build quality and design up with the very best. Definitely superior to a Sonata. No way could you describe the build quality as ‘flimsy’. I don’t believe you evaluated a P150, I’d hazard a guess at a P160.

The main issues with the P150 are the NeoHE PSU, which have been a complete farce, with more not working, than working. http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=27863

Also the rubber hdd bands snapping.

As for people calling the P150 poor value for money, while at the same time being completely obsessed with expensive alu cases, I find very ironic. Particularly a certain brand of alu case, that died out pretty quickly because performance wise they were poor value for money.
