Just been watching TV about the asylum seek debacle.
I cannot believe that while they are awaiting their claim, they are allowed to settle here, get married & even have kids. What if their claim fails? It’s just a joke.

While claiming they should either be housed in mass camps & be made to work & put any money earned back in to this country.

But the real blood boiler was seeing a man who claimed asylum successfully 8 years ago still NOT able to speak English. He was interviewed through an interpreter. WT..

After 8 years here if he cannot or won’t speak English he should be stripped of his asylum & sent back to rot from where he came.

This country it gets more insane by the minute & that’s not being racist, it’s being patriotic.

Patriotic? Do you love your country then?

Tell me what are your views on the millions more who skivvy through life collecting benefits and refusing to work just because they can?

That boils my blood. But it's because I love my country and hate to see it being bankrupted from the inside.

I have to admit, I did also think wtf when they said he had lived here for 8 years, yet was speaking through interpretation, not even broken english.

Can of worms.

Seriously though, close the borders.

The United Kingdom is one of the most densely-populated countries in Europe, with a population of approximately 62 million people, and a density of 246 people per square kilometer (992/sq mi).[67] With 50,431,700 inhabitants, or 84% of the UK's total,[68] England is the most populous nation in the United Kingdom. In 2006, an estimated 491,000 migrants[69] arrived to live in the UK for at least a year, while 400,000 people emigrated from the UK for a year or more.[70] Most new arrivals were heading for London and the South East.[71] The latest population projections for the country indicate that in 2031, the population of Britain would be 71 million, in 2050 it would reach 90 million and by 2081 the population could be 110 million

So basically our population grows by 1 million people every year.

I remember watching Airport one day. There was a person on it who had been refused entry to the country. So he was put up in a hotel for the night, unguarded, and then when the next day came he was no where to be seen. Surprise surprise.

I was quite shocked they aren't detained properly.

I am all for us providing asylum and the refugees deserve to be treated well. I would hate for us to set an example that others may follow should we ever be the refugees.

We shouldn't at any point EVER stop providing asylum, but there needs to be tighter constraints. It's not the asylum seekers fault that the system is floored.

If you were the asylum seeker, you'd see things very differently. You could turn your argument on it's head and ask why don't we deport anyone on benefits or out of work?

We just need a better system, that's all.

I have a question about asylum seekers in Britain:

Let's say I live in a nasty country where they want to do nasty things to me. Say I'm a Saudi living in Saudi and convert to Christianity and they're therefore trying to kill me. I want to get out of there sharpish, and claim asylum. Consequently I GTFO and go to Egypt as their Copts will be all nice to me. I then integrate into society, as I am grateful for them protecting me, and live a normal life working a 9-5.

Where is it our asylum seekers come from? It's not the Paddys IIRC. And why are they coming to the UK? I mean most people who come to the UK will find that France and Germany or Spain is nearer? What's so bad about them that it's worth going through them to get to us? Okay the French smell, but the Spanish and Germans aren't that bad are they?

For the record, things are not at all great for the Coptic Christians in Egypt. There was some fairly nasty fighting with some Muslims a month or so ago, as I recall.

Anyway.

You're right - asylum seekers are supposed to stop at the nearest safe place, yet somehow they all end up here, presumably because our benefit system is hilariously lax (for all concerned - lazy inbred natives included) so it's worth their while to get here.

I have to agree with that sentiment. Why travel all the way across europe through many other countries to come and seek asylum here... answer... we are an easy target!

They know all too well that just like the lazy jobless social scroungers we have of our own that they will get an easy life and a free ride!
