you know i got my replacement z5500's?

Have you tried changing the Fuse?

I turned my Z5500's off, unplugged it all, moved them, when i plugged them all back in, front left/right channel, dead, big humm from sub, pop, control center had 40black bars on the sreen, Amp died, had to get a replacement, if a fuse dont solve your problem, then a dead amp.

tried replacement fuse, powercable and slowblow fuse, and a different pod.

They are pure dead :(

Think logitech is gonna hunk out another set after 3 days? :/

i wish the soundcard just crackled.. it doesnt even work :(

and my onboard doesnt work (didnt last time i messed) , ill check that now, I neeeeed sound!

There is no point trying a different Z5500 control pod, it wouldent work anyway, it would turn on but no sound, what you gonna do now, get a refund?

When i got my replacement, i thought the rear channels were faulty, was my dead X-Fi though :p, i emailed them about it, second time around they only offer a refund by sounds of it :\

Yea, you might be able to get one repaird at an electronics shop :), but maybe if you want a refund they will request for one set been sent back?

So why did you get a replacement? just so you had 2 sets? :p

If you have a car, try to get both sets to work, apparently one of these in a car shakes everything and makes the wipers bounce lol, 10x louder in a car :p

the amp broke in my first set, told logitech who shipped another, which has now broken. (same thing as other one, wont turn on etc.)

I know its only the amp thats gone, it cant logically be anything else, so whip the subs out and hook it up to a new amp :)

Wont have a car till summer or so though :P

Bahh you might aswell buy new subs, the 10" ones in the Z5500 aint exatly what i would call good lol, they got small magnets too.

Same thing happened to me, think i went through 3 sets in the end. Decided to get a refund after that.

There like ticking timebombs, I wouldent be surprised if mine died tommorow, when it does die, I will use a Phillips C355 Mini Hi-Fi for a tempory period, get a refund for the Z5500's, then will save and buy some propor seperates.

well i bought my old set to my mates house, we tinkered about and decided the fuse had blown (slow blow they had sent a replacement for, as we tested this on a small seperate circuit me made)

so, we cut a floppy disk strip of metal up, made it circular, wedged it in, and guess what. Works perfectly :)

I cant get a refund from the etailer as its been nearly 2 years, i spose. Its up to logitech now :c

Wow cool, so instead of putting a fuse in, you put some strip of metal?, if logitech cant give me a refund or a replacement when my Z5500 dies, i am gonna take the AMP out, put it in its own box, build a bigger enclosure for the sub or buy a different driver, think about new speakers for the sattelites, but of course try get the Amp fixed first.

yup, i know its not ideal, or really safe, but we were very nervous to turn it on at first incase it blew my mates house oout :D

but yeah, basically im just bypassing the slowblow fuse,(with a piece of metal instead of a fuse) and letting the fuse in the plug do the work. So if it draws more than 3amps itll cut off anyhoo.

so either it, or my room is blowing the slowblow fuse instantly/very quickly.

Hi, just wondering. I know this is an old topic, but anyway.

Did you contact Logitech via their website regarding warranty replacement?

What details did they ask (serial number etc)? Do they just send you a new one without hassle and did you have to send your old speakers, or just keep them?

Thanks!

email from the website

they ask the normal stuff (is it plugged in etc)

they ask for serial and send a fuse

they send out replacement set

then they send a fuse again

then they ask for both sets back and offer a refund. So i fixed them myself. :)
