you know i got my replacement z5500's?

email from the website

they ask the normal stuff (is it plugged in etc)

they ask for serial and send a fuse

they send out replacement set

then they send a fuse again

then they ask for both sets back and offer a refund. So i fixed them myself. :)

Thanks,

Did you actually send back your old set or keep it? Shipping it back must be expensive and a hassle due to its weight. :D

they told me to send the power cable back...

and said theyd send a courier to pick the sets up, so it would cost me nothing. :)

But hey, ;) I kept them, one subs ontop of the other. Waiting till i get a car and sticking it in that, or might make a custom box and stuck both subs in for the pc

if your sending yours back, a couple of emails and they will send a fuse, it wont work, will it. So they send a new set. No questions asked and quicker than you can shake a stick at (mine was next day delivery) :)

So basically, they sent you a completely new set of speakers/sub for free and didn't even take back or send your old set? :O

I might try this. :D All they ask is for a serial number right? How about proof of purchase?

I cant rmemeber, ill look through my emails later/tomorrow though :)

Got it:
You have asked for the following for an RMA.

- The M/N: of the product (Model Number)

- The S/N or PID number: of the product (Serial Number)

- The P/N: of the product (Part Number)

- Your Full Postal Address with area zip code & Daytime Telephone Number

- Dealer Name, Address & Telephone Number

- Receipt / Invoice Number

- Purchase Date

they then ask for you to send cables/remote/wire/pod wire to somewhere. switzerllland. But even this allows you to use the speakers for something else, say a car, or whatever.

The next day i got this:

Thank you for contacting Logitech's Electronic Technical Support.

I thank you for getting back to me with the information. I would like to inform you that I am shipping you a new Logitech Z-5500 Speaker System as a replacement for your existing device, free of cost.

I got them the next day, when they said it would take atleast 5 days. Very good service.

Great thanks! My last question. Sorry to keep repeating myself.

Did you keep your old speaker set/sub + accessories? Did you send back anything at all?

Thanks ;)

Thanks, mine say 5xx. I hope Logitech will send me a replacement set. I will contact them via their website now.

Wish me luck :)

Is your PID 5xx? Seems like the ones with 5 have problems.

By the way, was it DHL that delivered your replacement set? :)

Sorry, another question. How long ago did you request a RMA and receive your new speakers from Logitech?

I've already submitted a RMA requested via their website but I heard there was a shortage of Z5500s currently. :(

Thanks

Ok, please let me know how.

you know the slowblow fuse at the back fo the sub?

Take it out, and note its smaller than a normal fuse.
Me and my mate tested the fuse on a temp made curcuit, and it was dead.

put a replacement from logitech in and again, it came out dead.

So, we got a floppy disk, cut the metal slidey bit off, rolled it to the same size as the fuse and cut to the same length. Then wedged it in, paniced about if it would blow the house up and then another mate clicked the on switch and prodigy came blarring out at full whack.

Worked perfectly ever since. :)

Althought, be carefull. Im not responsible if you or I die.

Wow, I might try that. Sounds dangerous though. :(
