** YOU PAY 17.5% VAT & FREE SHIPPING TO ALL THE UK INCLUDING SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS & NORTH/SOUTH IRELAN

Are you sure this ad is legal? Saying VAT is 17.5% is a false statement.

Not trying to stir anything, I just don't think the ASA would allow this kind of ad.

VAT is charged at the normal rate, however we basically refund 2.5% on the whole order so essentially you are paying 17.5% in the UK. However, we will invoice the prices with the correct VAT details, and also the VAT number is on the bottom of the invoice too.

You basically have VAT reduced on your order as we discounted the products to cover the extra percentage.

I hope that makes any sense. :)

Didn't know the UK included Southern Ireland, thats news to me !!

I doubt someone needs a geography lesson, LOL :):):)

Perhaps more time could have been spent on the wording but given most of our offers have excluded anyone outside of England, Wales and the central belt I didn't want people to switch off before they read that bit.

Also I'm not sure most people know what the British isles is :)

Yeah it does makes sense but that's exactly my point. VAT is not 17.5% so the ad is misleading. Anyway I don't want to seem like I'm complaining about it, I don't really care either way, just thought it was strange.

I can understand your concern but its as plain as 5UB put it. We obviously can't put the physical VAT at 17.5% but we knock off what essentially represents it :)

What's the deal with Southern Ireland? There are only two delivery option and short of a final click to confirm my order there is no sign of free shipping in the checkout process.
