Your bad driving encounters

Also, since when was it ok to try and join a motorway from a slip road driving at 40mph, especially the morons that seemingly dont understand there is a give way on the slip road and proceed to pull out at 40mph in front of lorries forcing them to stand on the brakes
I've noticed a sharp uptick in people who do that. My assumption is that they have speed limits visible on their dash, as I've come to realise that, in a lot of the cars I've driven, they mistakenly seem to suggest that slip roads are 40 zones. Entirely possible that's just a quirk of the ones around my area though.

Depends on the slip road, whilst nominally dual carriageway, there’s some around here that have 40 limits on them until very close to the merge onto the main road, so you get pootlers doing 40 all the way along the slip and barely accelerating at all by the time the come to merge.

Not slip roads but drives me up the wall a bit around here there are several places where the road changes to a dual-carriageway but the first 200-300 yards or so are still 40 MPH limits - I get to a "good" 40 then have people come past me already doing 50+, get to the NSL change and inevitably they just sit there and you get a mess of cars doing any speed from 40 to 65 or so in both lanes - takes them about a mile to sort themselves out and then I push past the lot at 70 usually, only for another mile or so down the road half of them to come back past me while I'm cruising at 70... I don't know what is so hard about just doing ~40, get to the speed limit change and then get up to 70 in a reasonable fashion (and if going to go faster than the speed limit be consistent about it...).

Dont know if its because so many people are skint and trying to hypermile everywhere but so many people are driving dangerously slow. Ive seen so many people drive 45mph on dual carraigeways and motorways and 30mph on 50mph limits its ridiculous.

So many people on slip roads seem to think they have right of way joining the motorway.
Van pulled out on me today, I was doing 50 in a 50 limit. Then he trundles along at 35-40 with no way of overtaking. ****.

To be fair, legalities of doing so or not I'd be fully expecting to get rear ended if I came to a complete stop at the end of a slip road. There is a really short one near home on the A47 where I've had to do so a couple of time but generally if there is room to match the pace of the traffic and slot in between two other vehicles, I'm not stopping.

I hate these as well - I'll stick to 40 until I actually reach the sign, but I'll invariably have some muppet behind me who's decided that it's fair game as soon as they can see the NSL sign in the distance, they'll aggressively tailgate me, then finally realise I'm not going to be bullied into breaking the limit, and go for the overtake (at 45mph) just as the limit changes and I put my foot down to leave them in the dust.

Just why?!

Just had a nice satisfying experience though, 40mph dual-carriageway into 30mph, highway maintenance flatbed trying to park in my boot as I'm slowing down (what is it with highway maintenance vehicles?!), he goes for the overtake and flies past me, just as a camera van becomes visible around the bend ahead. Enjoy the points ****!

Yup have this far too often - it just makes no sense to me.
