Your Best Band Live Thread

Lostprophets at Leeds '04 Festival, were amazing, probably my favourite,
Austrialian Pink Floyd, Sunderland Empire, '02 ish... were fantastic.

Muse was also close, I remember seeing them at Newcastle Uni years back, and supporting them was Coldplay when Coldplay were still unknown, was amazing for a tenner :P

The best live band I saw most recently were Les Savy Fav, at All Tomorrow's Parties. I'm not a massive fan of their music, but it didn't stop me enjoying their set hugely. Tim Harrington is hilarious, and an awesome showman - has to be seen to be believed. Haircuts, fake blood, charcoal, powdered snow, panda-bear hats, stage-diving, lycra jump suits, pirate outfits, a mock sacrifice, stolen clothing... and that's just in a 40-miniute set!

"When this starts... let's forget the past, and forget the future... and let's indulge in immediate gratification... I'm not asking you to think we're good, I'm just asking you to not think..."

Saw Queen supported by Dire Straits in the Mid 70's in Berlin. Awesome.

Foo Fighters in Hyde Park last year were amazing.

Hoping Metallica will be as well at Wembley in July. (Got VIP tickets as well) :D

For me i think i've always had a massively good time at any LCD soundsystem, they have this certain quality live where they don't sound exactly as they would on a CD and always improvise massively to provide one huge dance party event. When they play "yeah" live, crass into pretentious mix - the place always explodes.

Most recently though i would have to say spiritualized - acoustic mainlines at primavera in spain, where it was done in a huge concert hall, featured a lovely string section with three powerful backing singers - there was something uplifting about the whole experience.

DAFT PUNK live

will not ever be beaten

i dont even know enough good words to describe how good it is

absolute gods

it still looks great in vids and on tv but been there is just something else

absolutely blew me away , been to cup finals , big footy matches etc but the atmosphere in a tent full of 30 000+ people all having the time of there life is just unreal

The Australian Pink Floyd Show (!)

I find it odd a cover band can actually win it in my mind considering I have seen some of the bands already mentioned in this thread (Muse, Foo Fighters).

Also a shout for the Prodigy. 'Rock N' Roll' live is just immense.

Marillion, seen them twice.

Despite being a very tight and professional band, when they perform their songs it really seems like they mean it. Their whole crew is also fantastic, and really care about putting on the best show possible. Steve Hogarth (lead singer) is an incredibly humble person and always talks to the audience and makes them feel part of the show.
