Hi all.

its that time of the year lads where the year is about to end and im sure you have all taken some amazing shots this year.

Please post your best picture you have taken this year and why.

Best as in your personal best shot.

Hard to pick one but probably this:

An adult bull moose up close with good lighting was on top of my hit list for some years now. I made numerous trips to make it happen but mostly didn't make much progress since 2012 when I got some great photos but with shorter lenses. I had been enjoying 10 days of great skiing and photography on this trip but this was the icing on the cake.

Off to Jackson on Saturday, this time with a Sigma 150-600mm Sports so hoping for more of the same.

Hmm... this is touch. I have what I perceive as a technical best, and a favourite that speaks to me.

Best:

I think this panorama really catches the one of the best views of the Zurich waterfront, and I did it from a very tough position, hand-held, and I can't find another one that compares to it for my city (that I can search for and find online, anyway). The fading golden winter sun was the icing on the cake.

Favourite:

I saw this middle-aged guy in Portugal and just loved the way he was striding confidently along wearing this "Young, Strong & Crazy" t-shirt. He had a lot of character.

I'm struggling to choose one but I think this would have to be it...i do however have others I quite like.

So little time this year for hobby related photography this year, weddings, wedding, weddings!
The money is nice but with my full time job, have to say I'm kind of regretting it currently, I miss my hobby!

I can't decide between two as they both are best for such different reasons.

I love this one for the silhouette of the tiny climber against the massive mountains

This one I don't think is a particularly interesting shot I just love how the colours came out

This shot of waves during storm imogen in February is probably my best...

..but my favourite is actually the one I took with the mamiya 6x7 film camera.

Agreed, great idea for a thread.

What I like most is how these photos have technical flaws but you can see why they're the "favourites" :D
