Thats the one, its just easier

Dashik said:Main reason for gas first is to avoid a stall. If you just bring the clutch up then people can be a bit quick and the engine dies. Once people have some experiance they tend to co-ordinate there feet and do both at the same time but this of course takes practice.
I teach gas first then explain when they are more confident if its needed that they can press the gas harder as the bring the clutch up at the same time letting them move away faster.
If i'm catching the bite its gas first then clutch.
Also if you set the gas first then get the bite you avoid having 6k revs with ALL the bite and whoosh when the handbrake comes off.......![]()

The way you're taught to drive means sod-all in the real world.

sam83uk said:ive never actually tried this but is it possible to shoot of like a rocket without stalling by flooring the gas and jumping of the clutch?
hardc0re_tid said:gas, gas! since when did we become american. its called an accelerator.
So I guess your method is putting it in D then floor it?gurusan said:since i was born![]()

DragonHunter said:gas? accelerator? what're all these terms you're using?
its "throttle" to me. Dunno why, personal preference, so i'll let off all you other people calling it "gas" (which is what i cook with and where i get my central heating from).
W.O.T. for the win !
Mark A said:I'm learning at the moment and have been taught to set the biting point then set the gas to a lively hum lol. Might be why i stall all the time. The car is a 1.8 diesel Focus.
Neither do i matesablabra said:With the 1.6 diesel focus I'm driving around in, I don't have to give any gas in 90% of all cases... Don't really see the problem?![]()
Mark A said:Neither do i mate, there probably is no problem, I'm learning after all. I think i just lift the clutch too fast or something. If i don't use any gas the car moves off at 1mph or something, not ideal when joining a busy road.
