Most Botia type loach will do the job, and gives you the scope for more perminant residence if the clown is not suitable :)

my tank is only 60 litres so i think it is a bit small for a clown loach which it why it would only be temp.

ok i yanked them out :p didnt want to risk a snail infestation

Guys,

Decide a little retail therapy is in order.

I've always liked fish tanks, and decided I want one :)

I've seen the Fluval Edge which I REALLY like the look of, and its just about the right size, good price etc.

However, I want tropical fish :) and I've been told this tank isn't suitable for them?

Can anyone confirm?

Or recommend a tank/setup similar to the edge? (I love the looks of it) that'll be suitable for tropical :)

Many Thanks,
Jake

Fluval Edge is fine for tropicals, they even sell a (very expensive) slimline 25W heater as an accessory.

Due to the size it's a bit limiting in what you can stock it with. Small shoal of neon tetra's or danios = win.

I don't want much, just some tetras and a few other little things, like guppies and a plec. I want one as I've always found one, it'll be theraputic, and...well I just want one :)

So Fluval Edge should be alright?

I was thinking of getting the Fluval 200 Roma. Would this be big enough to have a nice variety of decent fish in? Is there a sort of sweet spot size wise?

I wouldn't put a Plec in one. It'll outgrow the tank in months. A Bristlenose would perhaps be OK.

Maximum you could really put in the Edge would be say 6 Neons, a couple of guppies and a Bristlenose.

thats cool :)

Whats a good heater apart from the nice looking expensive one? What would be sufficient for it? :)

Anything 25W would be fine. The Edge one is small and slim which is nice.

Aye, that's more like a proper sized tank ;)

Also worth taking a look at the slightly more expensive Bow fronted Vicenza 180. Comes with an external filter and pre drilled piping through the base which makes for a tidier looking tank.

Looks like I'm finally winning the algae war in my tank.

I bought an air pump with an air stone with phosphate treatment. Although algae is slowly returning it's taking less time. I normally have to clean the glass weekly but it's been three weeks now. I've also changed the lighting too. Fingers crossed.
