Your current Fish tank Setups!

ive just added some more sand to cover the roots of my plants a bit better, unfortunatly i was not carful enough whern adding the sand so its a bit cloudy. will take a pic when it settles more.

Can anyone recommend a good online shop. I need new bulbs and an air pump.

Also, I currently have 1 x Glo Aqua and 1 x Power Glo.. I was wondering if i could swap one of these with a UV lamp to help combat Algae.. ??

the only UV lamps i've seen are ones that you run the water through to sterilise it - i wouldn't have thought you could have one as a hood light?

Yeh that is true although you can get quite close. The main problem I am having with my tropical setup is getting the plants to survive. You really need to invest a lot of money and time.

Im finding this with marine too, for a bigger tank the cost per month/general upkeep is insane, let alone the one off cost of everything.

lucky im only in a nano :D

Not at all!

All you need is...
Lots of light
CO2 injection
Plant Additive

Jobs a goodun :)

Can't match the colours though to be honest ;)

A Malawi tank is pretty darn colourful.

It'll grow bigger than my tank, but if I keep fragging it it'll make me some money.
(i got it free, but the guy who gave it to me has made 200quid since january from the mother colony.)

You're right corals look amazing, but for some reason you can't seem to aquascape Marine tanks with such differnt variety as Freshwater.

I'm just as fond of marine as freshwater planted, Im saving up to set up a seahorse tank after I've bought my new PC.

Aye I know what you mean, scaping marine is so hard. Throw a pile of rocks in and it never looks good :D

However some people just "get it" right.

Just given mine a fresh bit of decoration. Need more blue gravel though.

Its a 3ft tank and in it I have...

2 Plec (Had these for about 3 years)
1 Golden Gourami
1 Tinfoil Barb
2 Blood Parrot Cichlids (had these for over 4 years now, awesome things)
1 seriously cool Figure 8 Puffer! :D My girlfriend has named it Pandora though :(

Wasn't sure how the puffer would get on with the other fish but I think with it being by far the smallest it is behaving itself rather well :)

Heres my tank anyway, really would like to upgrade but going to wait till I've got my own place for that.

Really got into them again recently.

I thought the puffer fish was a brackish water fish not fresh water.

i just noticed a snail on my front glass, its only tiny, less than 1cm long. it must have came in with the plants i got about 2 weeks ago, hope it doesnt multiply.
