Your current Fish tank Setups!

For those the nano marine tanks what does your daily/weekly maintainence involve?

I've got two tanks
250l
Daily - feed fish
twice a week - feed coral and clean glass with magnet (5mins max)
every 7-10 days - 10% water change, empty and clean protein skimmer, clean glass, clean filters (probably takes around 30mins)

23l nano marine
Daily - feed fish
every 7-10 days - 10% water change and clean glass with magnet (5-10mins)

The nano doesnt seem to be as bad for algae which is probably due to less bio load and the lights. I need to fit some better lights for my nano so I can get more corals in it.

I have a 200l and it's pretty much a weekly 25l water change and clean the glass then the occasional cleaning of the power heads, skimmer and return pump.

Hmmm interesting I was under the orginial impression that nano tanks took a lot more effort than the larger counterparts. Been doing a little bit of reading and it seems they aren't as bad as they used to be. Oh sooo tempting. :p

Here's mine. Just guppies and platties currently. They have kind of taken over the tank. To think I started with 5 guppies and 2 platties and they have bred into this lot.

Can i ask what's the best method of anchoring down plants without the pots that are supplied?

How I do it is,
1cm of 1-1 mix of play sand and potting compost.
3cm of play sand.
What ever gravel you fell like on top of that or some more play sand.

Get yourself something like these, makes for much better planting. ie. easyer.

How do you use those planters? ive had my tank about a year and when ever i change it the only thing i have trouble with is keeping the plants beded, i dont want to use sand as i prefer a gravel only base....

EDIT

just seen on the previous page about clear suckers, great idea! ordered some :D

They're small but I've got limited space, so it should be perfect for on my desk.

Found a really nice Betta and some guppies for it, should look pretty good when it's done.

dont suppose anyone knows where i could get a interpet river reef pump from? mine broke ages ago and ive been looking for a replacement, been using a bog standard one recently but it doesnt fit perfectly.

My nano marine reef, its my first ever fish tank and only had it since October but already I'm looking to upgrade it to a 4ft tank by the end of the year so that we can keep the Regal Tang that you can see in the pictures. As well as him and the two clowns you can see we've got 2 Peppermint shrimps, one blood shrimp and a boxer shrimp. Theres one red legged Hermit Crab left out of 6 that we did have at one point

Pics are a bit rubbish as I dont have an SLR
