Your current Fish tank Setups!

I'm struggling to find a good website to purchase marine tanks (all in one type kits), has anyone got any recommendations?

Is there a sandbed or any liverock in there though? Skimmer? Basic filtration?

Sand, live rock & purigen no skimmer though. Thinking of getting a skimmer though.

None in the baby tank, which is why I do daily WC, there will be a small sponge filter going in shortly though.

I got my D-D 28G HQI from charterhouse aquatics. It came next day and was the best price I could find.

I get everything from there that my LFS doesnt have.

My house is full of fish tanks atm... my old man and his missus got back into the hobby and currently have 3 big tanks with a 4th for fry of various types. And a little community one in the kitchen.

Will post some pictures up later, 2 are custom built ND Aquatics tanks (1 of which has nothing in atm as dad is in the middle of creating a custom background for it), the others are shop bought ones.

The 2 ND Aquatic ones are 400 litre and 580 litre, with the 400 litre one being setup and fully working and containing Malawi Cichlid's of various kinds as will the 580 also contain these. Our middle hall tank (about 250-300 litre I think) contains 3 big catfish (1 is over 10 years old), a plec and a few others (Notice I can't give you their real names as I'm not that keyed up on them yet!)

Off to get some substrate today to go with my slate and I should have the aesthetics all set up this eve :). Tempted to go for a sand substrate rather than stones but I'll see what they've got.

Got space for a sump?

Don't think so, not that I have any clue what a sump is lol, space is limited now though.
I have a fluval 205 which leaks a little....maybe put in a new seal & give it a go, don't know if it will cope.

If you can stick a sump in below it (cabinet type setup), makes life so much easier. A smaller fish tank would do the job, more water= more stable water chemistry.

You could connect up your fluval, chuck some ammonia in there and see how long it takes to cycle. Isn't the golden rule with filters 10 cycles of the tank water per hour?

I'm new to larger tanks so I wouldn't know the golden rule but I would have thought that 10x per hour seems an awful lot, that means my filter has to do 2000l ph, As I said I'm kind of new to the larger tank stuff so I'm probably missing something.

I have a spare 60l tank but really no room to put it.

I'll give the 205 filter a go & see how it copes. if it isn't up to the job what would be a decentish external filter to go for, I see a lot of problems with leaking Fluval & Tetratec, are Eheim worth the extra?

Turned my tank light on this morning to find my Boxer Shrimp eating one of my Peppermint Shrimp's :(
