Your Favourite cases of all time Ranked

Corsair Air 540

Up there with my favourite cases it has a lot going for it but a few areas which seem to have been an afterthought - I'm sad they never did a proper update on it the newer variants just feel like they are trying too hard and forgot the "ethos" that made the 540 so good.

Since changing from a typical tower format. Last one being a Thermaltake Armor. I've always used the HAF XB EVO which is a hybrid LAN party build case as the gubbins are below the horizontal motherboard shelf.

The access to cables can be a little tight but once installed the upper layer is devoid of most cables and gives great access to the major components when upgrading or for maintenance. I initially changed due to drooping graphics cards and heavy CPU coolers.

My brother uses one of these and swears by it!

Coolermaster ATCS CM201 (Black Widow colours preferred!)
Lian-Li V1000
Lian-Li PC60 variants

Always used to like the look of the Soldam cases back in the day, but they were A) unavailable and B) about £1000 :o

Got a mint PC 60 case here with all the gubbings ie extras inc spare windowed panel thinking of building it up with some case modds to improve ventilation as 80mm's don't puff much air

Not had that many cases, but here goes.

CM Silencio 550 - hated this case.

Cheiftec Dragon - had a good few builds on this, earliest was a K6. Might still be in the parents loft.

Corsair 750d - love this beast. Oodles of space. Lots of air flow (have the high air flow front). Simple, clean design.

Globalwin YCC61F1
Still got mine, still occasionally serves as a spare (whilst modding my main case recently) and as a test bench - joys of a removable motherboard tray!

Coolermaster ATC-201, would have loved one of these back in the day. I managed to get hold of an ATC-200, but never liked the looks of it as much but it still had the same stellar build quality.

Surprised no-one has mentioned the Silverstone TJ07. Wasn't that the case to have for a long time? The customer MurderMods versions were always incredible!

Silverstone SG03. Despite it's stock niggles, love mine and have had it as my main case for around 10 years. Super compact, able to fit a mATX setup and a good deal of drives. Now it's been modded, it now has some nice airflow to keep things cool too. Can see me using it for many more years now.

The ones I can remember

Cheiftec Dragon - in the green colour - I think I may have have a pentium 120 in there -I certainly remember how heavy the thing was

Akasa Eclipse 62 - still running to this day with an OC'ed Q6600

HAF932 - Still my current PC and running a original i7 920 at 3.6 Ghz - - loads of space and brilliant airflow

I haven't had many cases either, but, for the ones I have had:
  1. Chenbro Gaming Bomb (Green)
  2. Jonsbo W2
  3. Antec P280
  4. Antec P180
In terms of looks, the Jonsbo is hands down the prettiest, but, my favourite case of all was the Chenbro Gaming Bomb. For a 2003 case, it was heavy as it was steel, but, I didn't require a single screw to mount anything other than the motherboard. Totally revolutionary. It even had a slide locking mechanism and key! When it came to customisability though, the P280 was king, and it improved upon the P180 in all the right areas, but it was a slightly bigger case.

Coolermaster ATCS 200/201 was also my favourite. I had one in silver/grey must have been back in 2000/2001 (must have been a 200). They should remake that case. It was pure class.

For a desktop PC: Lian Li Armorsuit PC-P50R (Black with red interior) - same case also available as PC-P50WB (Black with black interior) and PC-P50 (Black with silver interior)

For a HTPC: Lian LI PC-C60 - takes full size ATX motherboard and PSU - very quiet with Noctua fans throughout.
