This is another one of those OMG-im-so-bored-at-work-thread

Don't really have a favourite brand apart from Gym clothes .. HAS to be Nike .. I don't know why but all the gear is soo comfy and flattering :)

I don't go for labels much - if it looks/feels/tastes/sounds good then I'll have it but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy something based on who made it. I somehow always end up buying Adidas trainers though, I guess they just make styles that appeal to me.

Vehicle - Something big and comfy for the family like a Chrysler Grand Voyager. Something small and sporty for me, Audi TT
AudioVisual/Home electronics - Linn all the way (Panasonic plasma TV I reckon)
Sound - Linn all the way
Games Hardware - Just the best PC, with multiple big monitors (Apple)
Clothing gear - Bespoke stuff, Tyrwitt shirts
Shoes - Handmade shoes. Nike trainers

I see your point, but i feel like with some brands comes some expectation and that come as part of what you pay for!

Buy a Bush or Alba tv and you just expect it not to last that long because that brand is associated with lower quality but on the other hand, if you buy something like Sony, panasonic etc you feel like you are getting something with a well know pedigree and quality..... :)

Oh absolutely, plus if you've bought from them before you'll likely have brand loyalty as well, I just wouldn't limit myself from buying an unknown brand just because it was unknown.

Vehicle - Pre '72 VW Bug, candy apple red, big motor & plenty of chrome
Shoes - Etnies Lo-Cut
Coffee Maker - Krups (I have one but it's currently busted)
Kitchen Knives - Global
Clothing - not too fussed but I'm currently loving Gap's fitted shirts, great for the slender gentleman.
Audio Visual - Sony. Don't care if it's the best or not, I just love how those four little letters look.

Vehicle - The Bus.
AudioVisual/Home electronics - Sony 32" soon to be LG LCD HD 40", Also Sound System With JBL speakers.
Sound - 7.1 Surround Sound Theatre Kit, By Sony.
Games Hardware - Pc, :)
Clothing gear - Alternative, Jeans, Black Hoodies, Trainers..
Shoes - DCSHOECO USA

Vehicle - VW Golf GTI
AudioVisual/Home electronics - Sony
Games Hardware - Sony
Clothing gear - Abercrombie & Fitch, Ewisu, Ecko
Shoes/Trainers - Timberlands/Nike

I don't really care enough about any of those to know enough to make a good judgement.

I guess car would be a TVR (not sure on the model), clothes would be Volcom and Etnies (but then I buy these anyway). Don't know about anything else.

Vehicle - Ford
AudioVisual/Home electronics - Samsung
Sound - Denon (probably only because thats what weve got at home)
Games Hardware - Any, Xbox 360 right now.
Clothing gear - George at ASDA :p
Shoes - Puma or Adidas

Food - Fish & Chips or Chinese - they should be brands :p

Sony are pretty mid-range though are they not? Because if you want good audio/video systems you can pay ridiculous amounts of money for the top of the range brand names, and I don't believe Sony and Panasonic would be two of those brand names (you certainly can't buy the sort of thing I'm talking about in your local Dixons).

What is wrong in buying something because it is an X brand or Z product? I dont see the harm unless i am missing the point here. With certain product come certain expectation period.
If a product is appealling to the masses, majority of the time it is down to the quality of the product e.g Ipod.

Definitely not, but that was an example i was only giving. If money is not an issue i will still stick to Sony products in some area.

Rubbish, it's purely down to marketing.

The iPod has always been very poorly specced against other similar products. Its just that it looks nice and has a 'cool' image, meaning it has market appeal.

Same goes for a lot of Sony stuff.
