So...how do you want your funeral to be? Do you want to be buried, cremated...etc? Anything else? Details?

I am planning to be buried, and I want Fade to Black by Metallica played as my coffin is lowered into the ground. I don't really care where I'm buried, anywhere will do I guess.

I want to be cremated I think. Perhaps that will change at some point. I want anything thats left usable to be used for science/health purposes. I don't want any scruffy metal music though, think I'd go with Air, or Adagio.

I would prefer to be cremated - no point taking up space once I'm away. I don't want any religious nonsense either, just a few family and friends along to say goodbye and then a big **** up afterwards where everybody can celebrate the good stuff - I know some people will be sad but I'd rather they didn't dwell on the fact that I was gone but remember the fun we had together.

As for music, not really that bothered but I may make a CD with my favourite songs to be played at the wake - amongst them would be 'Johnny Was' by Stiff Little Fingers and 'Child in Time' (the extended version) by Deep purple. I've also, always thought 'Forever Autumn' by Justin Hayward would be an excellent track to be played at a funeral. I may include '**** Her Gently' by Tenacious D to liven things up a bit :D

Buried at sea with 6 black horses on a gun carriage at dawn. With a piper playing "Spirit in the Sky"

As long as they put me in a hole deep enough so that stray dogs can't dig me up then they can play whatever the hell they like. I'll not care, I'll be dead.

lol I was just about the say that. Couldn't give a stuff if I'm buried or burnt. I'd rather the money was spent by my loved ones on something more worthwhile.

Rather than adequately saying goodbye to the person they loved?

Life's short enough as it is already, I'd rather not waste time thinking about my death. Maybe when I'm older, but I'm still young so this whole conversation feels a little morbid to me.

I've always said that I want to be sailed out to sea in a wooden boat which is burnt out from under me and I sink down to the bottom, (did I mention I was in a pyramid on the boat at the time?) :D:D

We have a lot of talk about funerals in my family as after many many years in the IT industry my Dad, who is now retired, works as a "casual funeral operative" for one of the national funeral chains, (this means he gets called up once a week and asked if he is available to drive limos/hearses, to carry in/out and to lower at the graveside ... he doesn't have to do collections anymore).

If you want music be as specific as possible and if you can include information in your instruction like what CDs it can be found on it could be useful :)

edit: don't forget if you are being buried to have some artefacts buried with you from various periods (e.g. Roman, Neolithic, Victorian, 1950's) ... just to confuse future editions of Time Team!
