Your Game of the year 2022?

Easily Elden Ring.

Late arrival to the game, but what a refreshing change to play a game that didn't hold your hand like a little baby, and didn't have you smash a certain button at a certain time like a simpleton.

No Game/Nothing

It's probably been one of the worse years ever for PC gaming - ridiculous gfx card prices, expensive cpus and very few games coming out that are half decent.

COD (only played the beta) but it wasn't a sufficient value proposition for me to buy the game - movement is too slow and clunky and £60 is daft for the same old rehash. I'd rather carry on playing Cold War.

Elden Ring was dire - ugly, unforgiving game with poor graphics and bad coding.

Dying Light - I hate zombies and it's been done so many times.

God of War is one of the few games I played to the end. Yes the graphics are great, but I found the story lacking and the characters unappealing - the kid, sindri and the scottish head are all really annoying. The game would have been better if it was just Kratos. The mini game puzzles were all annoying too.

Thanks for this thread it just made me realise why do I keep spending lots of money on my pc when all the games are crap and I rarely finish them.

New year is approaching, time to make that new year resolution to stop PC gaming Rumple :D

To be fair Rumple, you are obviously not alone in that thought because the most votes last year went to No Game/Nothing and its in 2nd at the moment this year. So theres clearly quite a few gamers on the forums who have played nothing that they have deemed worthy to be their game of the year for either 2021 or 2022. I've always played at least one cracker of a game every year, if I went a whole year without playing one great game I think I'd just give it all up and do something more enjoyable as a hobby :)

I think in terms of pure fun, and this is a tough one, it's F1 22 for me this year. I invested in a proper sim rig and started racing in VR - the implementation is ropey but in terms of the experience - top notch. I've started to broaden my racing game horizons a little but it kicked off with F1.
