Your Gaming TV!

Exactly that, I paid £1150 from John Lewis(£50 voucher) and I've not been affected by lag on battlefield one thus far, some would say I've improved.

Wow I'll have to give that TV a look in if so, can't seem to find many official reviews on it? (hdtv test?)

How is HDR on it also?

looks like android tv which is what sony use as it's platform is now dead

panasonic are buying their panels from LG currently. not sure about sony i think they may be buying from samsung.

the market is a minefield atm. but looks like another nail in sony's tv market coffin.

Well I'm pleased I got an Android Sony TV before they die??? Playing emulators, android games and ps3 games if I want to using a PS4 pad is magic. Kodi and a load of Android apps is fantastic too.

Not sure why, Sony have only just moved over to Android tv relatively recently so its not exactly ingrained in everything yet

Firefox is also getting no more support from Mozilla, even though they are still developing Gecko - does this mean Panasonic are going to give up their TV share as well , of course not.

They will either do something themselves in house or find a different solution.

well no more support after december. so good luck with any new apps you want in future.

I have a sony tv too btw, the android has always worked fine but i got mine after they ironed out all the initial bugs.

i only have 1 app on it i use, i wouldn't dream of bloating it up with kodi, etc.

sony have been struggling for a while and well it will leave a bitter taste in their loyal customers (fanboys) mouths so i can see some of them deciding to stop being so loyal.

panasonic are still developing OLED, so they have that going for them however it's still not ready to be released so buying from LG atm. Sony don't make any panels and now android is dead, they don't have much going for them. especially at the prices they charge.

I paid £1299 for mine although I did get some back as it took three to get a decent one. When you get a good one it's very good. 21ms response in game mode with HDR it's a fantastic TV for PS4 Pro and Xbox one S......

Very tempting.. had my eye one for a little while now. I'm guessing I'm better off purchasing in store rather than online for ease of replacement. Knowing my luck, it'll take me a few to get a decent one.

I have a Sony KDL50W705 at the moment, which has served me very well for 2 years. Extremely low response times. But the pull towards 4K and HDR is strong, especially when I have a PS4 Pro coming. Also, gaining 5" can't be sniffed at ;)

I would highly recommend the 7000 just expect to possibly exchange it a few times if it falls to bits in front of you. The newer ones now use better Glue/tape so stay together better.....

Just bought myself a Philips 55PUS6401 for £599.

After some initial tinkering with the settings using THIS as a rough guide, I'm very pleased with it. Input lag seem minimal, probably not the best around but it looks great. Also the ambilight is a great feature, watched X-Men Apocalypse (1080p) last night and it really does compliment films and games (although a bit off putting when you're playing a first person shooter).

I'd recommend for the money.

I doubt Sony are going anywhere (in regards to TV's) just yet.

Just because their chosen OS is dying / has died (which Sony will have known for quite some time) is pretty meaningless really.

Depends on who buys a TV for the OS / apps , or for the actual quality of the screen, after all its pretty easy (and sometimes worth doing anyway) to bypass the apps completely and use your own source.

Given how they have just released a very premium set which has gone down well, I dont see Sony (or Pana for that matter) going anywhere in the foreseeable future

Ah damn.. I caved in.
