man ive spent some cash on cards, i remember when my 9600 pro cost me £125 :O
pretty even split between nvidia and ATI though i can see it swinging in nvidias favour if AMD dont pull there fingers out soon.

Let me think...

Onboard 2mb ATi Rage Pro, Voodoo3 3000, RadeonVE (or 7000), Onboard Geforce 4MX (shortest lived PC part ever - lasted 1 day - Geforce 4 my foot) Radeon 9500Pro, Geforce 6600GT, Geforce 6800GT, Radeon X1800XT, Geforce 8800GT.

If I had to pick favourites it's a tie between the Voodoo 3 and the 9500Pro. They both lasted me a couple of years before anything made me fancy an upgrade.

8mb thing, cant think of the name - very poor
32mb thing, also the name escapes me - very poor
an nvidia 64mb card - performance was ok or the time
256mb fx5500 - awsome at the time, still going strong in an old pc at my bothers.
7300le geforce - 256m with turbo cach cr*p - apualingly bad but for £17 I was happy.
320mb 8800 gts - Fantastic performance - probably cost me to much though
512mb 8800 gt - sweet card for the price point

No new cards on the horizon for me, upgrade from the E2160 next year instead.

MSI 128mb Ti4800 - £180 - 2002-3 (IIRC)
BFG 256mb 7800GT - £260 - 2005
Zotac 51mb 8800GTS - £210 - 2007

Are my last three cards, i can't remember the rest. I think i had on board before that, but before that i had two GFX cards, Creative Labs and Voodoo 2 strongly ring a bell but not too certain, thats going back about 12 years IIRC.

My X800 is the reason I discovered OcUK, I remember there used to be a sticky on the X800 Pro 16 Pipes Mod or something similar. A Google revealed a forum called "Overclockers UK" and it all took off from there :D. Was a lurker for ages though and didn't sign up for a long time.
