Currently waiting on the RTX 2070S availability to settle down some more before my next upgrade.

Here are the ones I remember..

S3 Virge 4MB
Voodoo 2 12MB
Geforce 2MX
Geforce MX440
9800 Pro
X850XT PE
X1800XT
X1900XT
HD 2900 XT
HD 4870
HD 6870 1GB
R9 285
RX480
Vega 64

I thought I'd had more Nvidia cards but looks like I sway the AMD way! My upgrades have definitely slowed down as I've got older.

MX440
Ti 4600 (sort of)
9700Pro
X800 XT PE
X1900XT
3870
4870
5870
7970
390X
1080Ti

Pretty AMD dominated, though that's because the MX440 died on me within weeks and the Ti 4600 was DOA. Got a 9700 pro to replace it and never looked back.

Riva TNT2
GeForce 2 MX
GeForce 4 Ti4200
Radeon 9800 Pro
Radeon x800 Pro
Radeon x1950 Pro
Radeon HD4850

<10 year break>

Radeon 5700
GeForce RTX 3070

gtx1080 ti x13 different ones over 2 years
rtx2080 Ti

Didn't have many PCs as a youngster as they were so expensive so I have quite a limited history:

RIVA TNT2
Radeon 9800

<huge gap>

GTX 260 (might have been a 280, can't remember)

<another gap>

GTX 980Ti
GTX 1070
GTX 1660 Super (haven't really used this, was just used to diagnose a fault).

All of this is spread across 26 years.

Cirrus logic CL-GD5428 ISA - 386SX 25 (1994)
S3 Trio64V + extra ram. (allowed 24-bit colour vs only 16-bit IIRC) - Cyrix 686 166MHz (1996)
3DFx Voodoo 3 2000 PCI - Cyrix 6x86 166MHz (2000)
3DFx Voodoo 3 3000 TV AGP - Cyrix MII 333MHz (2001)
ATi Radeon 7500 64mb AGP - AMD Duron 800 (2002)
ATi Radeon 9800 pro AGP (flashed to XT) - Athlon XP 2500+ (2003)
ATi Radeon x850XT PE PCIe - Athlon 64 3700+ (2005)
ATi Radeon HD3870 - 3700+/Phenom II X4 955 (2008)
AMD Radeon HD6950 - PII X4 955 (2011)
nVidia Geforce GTX780 - PII X4 955/i7 4820K (2013) - Still in use today for cuda + physx
AMD Radeon Vega 56 - Ryzen Threadripper 1920x (2017)

Let me think...

Onboard 2mb ATi Rage Pro, Voodoo3 3000, RadeonVE (or 7000), Onboard Geforce 4MX (shortest lived PC part ever - lasted 1 day - Geforce 4 my foot) Radeon 9500Pro, Geforce 6600GT, Geforce 6800GT, Radeon X1800XT, Geforce 8800GT.

If I had to pick favourites it's a tie between the Voodoo 3 and the 9500Pro. They both lasted me a couple of years before anything made me fancy an upgrade.
Ooh. Thread revival. Since then Radeon HD4850, Geforce GTX 460, Geforce GTX 970. GTX 970 has been the longest lived but it's spent most of its like life paired with a quad core Phenom II. May be worth another upgrade now I have a Ryzen 7 2700x...
