Time to update this.

The GTX670 failed but was just still under warranty so OcUK very generously replaced it with a GTX970, which I sold a year ago and now I'm using a Vega 56.

Let's see what I can remember - good memory exercise this. But if I go waaaay back to around 1993:

Some 8-bit ISA VGA card with 256KB VRAM, (make/model unknown - a late 1980s relic I think)
Cirrus Logic 1MB VLB
Matrox Mystique 220
- PowerVR (anyone remember these? A rival to the original Voodoo but never really took off in the consumer market. Got Wipeout 2097 free with it though)
Matrox Millenium G400
- Voodoo 2
Geforce 3, (cannot remember which brand)
Gainward Geforce FX 5800
Geforce 8800GTS 640MB
Geforce 285
Geforce 580
Asus Geforce Titan (the very original one)
Asus Geforce 1080
MSI Geforce Gaming Trio X 3080

cirrus logic 500kb
Diamond stealth 2mb
Rendition Verite chipset card - quake was awesome
Diamond Steath 4mb + Voodoo and then Voodoo 2
Matrox Millenium with Voodoo 3, Voodoo 5 i cannnot remember which was with which now
Ngreedia every since in honesty
I cant even remmebr the early models
Ngreedia 256
Ngreedia 480
Ngreedia 580
Ngreedia 980
Ngreedia 1080ti
Ngreedia 2080ti
Awaiting stock on the 30 series but watching what Big navi is going to be to perhaps cancel the order tbh and go team red frankly

I don't even remember what was in our old Gateway prebuilt, but I do know I still have the copy of Age of Empires bundled with it

TIME SKIP A WHOLE 16 YEARS

Sapphire Radeon HD 7970
GeForce GTX 970 (can't remember the brand)
PowerColor Red Devil RX580
Zotac 1080ti AMP!
ASUS ROG Strix 3090 OC

This is a funny one. At home I recall that at least I had:

S3 Virge 1MB
Matrox Millennium 4MB
(I plugged a 3DFX Voodoo to these ones)
Elsa GLoria XXL
Nvidia TNT
Nvidia Geforce 256
Nvidia Geforce 3 Ti 500
Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra
Nvidia Geforce 8800 Ultra (it did not play Crysis... at least not so well).
Nvidia Geforce 580
Nvidia Geforce 980 Ti
Nvidia Geforce 1080 Ti
Nvidia Geforce 2080 Ti

and when it arrives...

one of those Aorus Gforce 3090

Have you took delivery of that 3090 dude ? I ask as I have one on preorder for June next year I think sadly
If so is it any good and can you throw up some pics please, I’m desperate to see it in detail

The one's I can remember.

First gpu I brought to play doom at a good framerate, forgot the name.
3dfx voodoo 2
3dfx voodoo 3 2000 (think I still have this lying around)

Evga Geforce GTX 970 FTW (upgraded to x70)
Palit Geforce GTX 1070 Gamerock Premium
Auros Geforce GTX 1080ti (upgraded to x80ti) current card.

I'm sure I've missed a few here, forgotten some of the brands and I've excluded some of the 2D only cards that were paired with the Voodoos.

Sadly the AMD/ATi merger killed off the competition from my perspective, maybe things are turning around for Big Navi.

Some owned at the same time.

tnt 2 pro
x300se
x800xl (best card on list, unlocked to x850xt and volt modded)
hd 3850 256
hd 3850 512
hd 2600xt (bought just to overclock till it broke because it was so efficient)
8600gts 256 (changing cards so often needed backup)
hd 4850
hd 4870
hd 4890
hd 5850 (twice)
hd 6850 (twice)
hd 6950 (flashed to 6970)
hd 7950
gtx 960
rx 480
gtx 1080

Just worked out that net cost of ownership of all cards (except first two) under £1000 and I still have the last one.

May as well add to the list. A fun exercise. x800xl remains my favourite card.

gtx 1060 6gb
gtx 1070

gtx 1080
rx 580
gtx 1080ti

ATi 7770

Nvidia 3080 - my under desk heater

Got back into pc gaming in 2004. As you can see I am an Nvidia fanboy! Thought I would get that in before anyone says anything! :p

Original FarCry was what got me back into pc gaming. Would run med to high graphics with the 5200 FX card and FarCry looked stunning and it really opened my eyes to what I was missing out on when I had gone back to console gaming.

Here is the list of my old GPU's along with my current card.

Nvidia 5200 FX
Nvidia 6600 GT
Nvidia 6800 Ultra
Nvidia 8800 GS
Nvidia 8800 GT
Nvidia 280 GTX
Nvidia 680 GTX
Nvidia 1060 GTX 6gb
Nvidia 2080 RTX
Nvidia 3090 RTX

Pretty sure I have not missed any out. Back in the day money was tighter and I never really had high end cards but always went with one which would offer good value and performance. First nearly top tier car was my 2080 RTX so having the 3090 RTX will be my first top tier card and I am looking forward to it arriving with me on Monday.
