Yep, but it was pointless - no mainstream motherboards at the time supported it. The 3800 series single cards didn't even get close to utilising all the bandwidth of a v1 slot.

For me it was a perfect fit as I had a 790FX board at the time which supported PCIe 2.0. I think so anyways.
